It would be interesting to see a percentage of wins/losses after 1,000 simulations.... I used to have the software and you could run that many Sims and it'd determine who overall was better, to give you a more accurate idea of the odds, etc.
Johnson would rematch Durakovic again. The big man apparently has no chin. It's just a matter of landing on him. But in week ten

Johnson has Holyfield to contend with.

Yes indeed, and I'm less thrilled with that idea because I thought for sure Johnson would've been coming off of a KO loss heading into Week 10
But a deal's a deal. So I'll see you in the ring in Week 10.

Johnson vs Holyfield
Fury vs Norton III
Yes indeed. Week #11 Johnson will be gunning for the Heavyweight title again. The Marciano loss was a fluke.

AFTER DRAZEN, NOW COMES "THE REAL DEAL", CAN JOHNSON REGAIN THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP?
Jack Johnson, whose pulled off the UPSET OF THE YEAR knocking out "The Cyborg" Drazen Durakovic is taking on a seemingly more human opponent in Evander Holyfield (ranked #26 in the SimUniverse) but Johnson is not overlooking the Christian Soldier.
"Holyfield has SPIRIT," quipped Johnson, "Something that a mechanical man like Durakovic didn't have. But make no mistake, this is for my stablemate Tyson Fury, revenge baby!"
Fury, himself, is to engage in a third clash with Ken Norton. Their first encounter was a candidate for the UPSET OF THE YEAR when the 6'9" Gypsy King stopped the Black Hercules on cuts. The rematch went the distance, a hotly contested majority decision for Norton. This bout will be "the war to settle the score", as the old saying goes.
Jean Marc Mormeck, since losing to James Toney in a bid for the Cruiserweight crown, has gone undefeated against a mixed bag of Heavyweights and will be facing Pete Rademacher. "I intend on becoming the #1 ranked cruiserweight in the world again and I will win the title!", stated Mormeck, who shows an interest in participating in the first PRIZEFIGHTER tournament of the season as well.
Amanda Serrano, coming off of a 4th round knockout of Sarah Goodson is penciled in to battle Hannah Fox. "Amanda's game plan is to get a long undefeated streak and then challenge for the championship," manager Homicide Henry stated, "Only time will tell when that'll happen. It seems to me in the women's division that the managers are ducking everyone's girls and that's counter productive."
Evander Holyfield could be not reached for comment concerning his fight with #2 ranked Jack Johnson, though his manager seems understandably nervous after Johnson's kayo victory over Durakovic.
"It's one thing beating a Tyson Fury, it's another thing beating a Jack Johnson: especially one who is riding high in confidence," said Gilgamesh.
Johnson plans on going for the Heavyweight Championship in week #11. "If I can defeat a man everyone said couldn't be beaten, then what's there to fear facing a Muhammad Ali or Riddick Bowe or Marciano?"

WHO IS THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT IN THE WORLD?
Between all of the organizations: WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, etc there seems to be a common pattern of Champions losing titles in their maiden defenses or after two defenses.
The initial Champions were:
Jack Johnson (WBC)
Muhammad Ali (WBA)
Vitali Klitschko (WBO)
Larry Holmes (IBF)
The only one of those men still holding a belt is Muhammad Ali. He won it against Gene Tunney, and has defended it against Mike Tyson and Jim Jeffries all by wide unaminous decisions.
Vitali Klitschko won the WBO against Riddick Bowe, in quite the entertaining contest, only to lose it to on TKO to Peter Jackson, only for Jackson to lose the belt in a wildly controversial split decision to Bowe. The wonders never cease.
Larry Holmes won the IBF belt against George Foreman, and defended it successfully in a hotly disputed decision against Jack Dempsey, only to lose the belt to Gene Tunney.
Jack Johnson won the WBC belt by knockout over Joe Louis, only to lose the title in a blistering battle with Rocky Marciano. The Rock successfully defended the title against George Foreman, avenging a loss he previously held. Since losing the title, Johnson fought CPU Heavyweight champion Drazen Durakovic in a non-title match and knocked him out upping his rating to #2 overall in the SimUniverse.
But WHO really is the best? If we're to go strictly by the numbers Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano seem to be the only two champions capable of deciding that equation. Will they be the first to engage in a unification bout?
That seems unlikely anytime soon, as Marciano is most likely going to face Germany's Max Schmeling and Jack Johnson is adamant about gunning for the championship once he gets passed Evander Holyfield (if he wins) which will only gum up the works even further.
James "Lights Out" Toney, the Cruiserweight Champion of the World, steps up for the first time into the Heavyweight division challenging WBA Champion Muhammad Ali in what is certainly the most intriguing match-up of the season thus far!
Or is it a dark horse nobody is really paying attention to? James Toney the Cruiserweight King is #4 in the world overall and is stepping up against Muhammad Ali in a bid for the Heavyweight crown. Will Toney's speed and high ring IQ nullify Ali's abilities and it be an even playing field? We'll have to wait and see.

I though all pirates "only ever votes for himself".....and yet.....someone else agrees that it is Ali that is the answer to this question.
Someone here is acting in an unbias and objective manner.. Which is very concerning. We need to find this person, and educate him on just how things are supposed to work in the sim.

THE PRIZEFIGHTER TOURNAMENT IS SHAPING UP FAST: WHO WILL WIN THE SHOT AT THE TITLE?
Wladimir Klitschko. Fabrice Tiozzo. Jack Dempsey. Jean Marc Mormeck. Tommy Morrison. Five names thus far selected of the mandatory eight required. A mixed bag of Heavyweights and Cruiserweights in a series of three round bouts. The winner gets not only a badass trophy, but also a shot at the title.
All of these men, in one form or fashion, has been involved in title eliminators or title bouts. They've all come up short. This is possibly their second chance at redemption.
PaddyPower odds (thus far) have Dempsey as the favorite to win the tournament at 5-2, and Tommy Morrison as most likely to be in the finals with the Manassa Mauler with odds at 4-1 of that likelihood.
But is it a foregone conclusion? After all we have some very fast, explosive Cruiserweights in there which might negate any physical advantages the Heavyweights have.
There's still three more slots open. This article may be written too soon. For all we know the likes of Tyson, Foreman, and Jackson may enter and Paddy's odds will once again be out the window.

Vitali Klitschko: Can He Become the First Two-Time Heavyweight Champion of the SimUniverse?
The former WBO champion is set to face "The Brockton Blockbuster" Rocky Marciano for the WBC belt. The diminutive Marciano has successfully defended the title against George Foreman since winning it against Jack Johnson, but now he's facing a giant in the 6'8" 245 pound Vitali Klitschko.
The Ukrainian has only suffered one defeat, a TKO stoppage to Peter Jackson, going 8-1-0 in his last nine outings. Riddick Bowe and Tommy Morrison have felt the power of Klitschko's punches, but will Marciano?
The Rock has been stopped before (Foreman, in their first meeting) and he can be outboxed. All the size and ring IQ is in Klitschko's favor. He's also got a jaw made out of cast iron. So there's little chance of the 5'11" Marciano toppling Vitali in the ring. Pure unadulterated pressure, punches in bunches, for 45 minutes straight is his only chance.

If so, the "Johnson vs Durakovic" and "Johnson has done the impossible" and "wbc championship: Johnson vs Marciano", need merged with this.

THE QUINTESSENTIAL OPPONENT:
A Sit-down Interview with Martin Rogan
In every SimUniverse season there's always that ONE GUY that seems to be a common denominator for the majority of the fighters. Oftentimes they are nothing more than stepping stones, though once in a great while they'll surprise everyone with an unexpected victory against all odds.
This season, that individual is Ireland's Martin Rogan. Of the 26 Heavyweights competing this season, Rogan has fought
Wladimir Klitschko,
Joe Frazier,
Joe Louis,
Jersey Joe Walcott.
Rogie, as he's known to his countrymen, was literally a taxicab driver in his native Belfast who "shocked the world" when he defeated the ever popular Matt Skelton in 11 back-and-forth rounds. He suddenly became Ireland's own version of Cinderella Man.
"Winning the Prizefighter tournaments prepared me for the challenge and I came out on top the victor," Rogan stated solemnly.
"But it's Murphy's Law, no? Anything that can go wrong will sooner or later."
And wrong it did. Rogan would lose the British & Commonwealth championship in his next outing to Sam Sexton, and the losses kept piling up. Before entering the SimUniverse he went 4-5-0 after losing the title he worked so hard to get.
That pattern has certainly not changed either. In the first week of competition Rogan was obliterated by "The Brown Bomber" in four rounds.
"Gosh that fella can CRACK!", recounts Rogan as he hit the canvas.
"I felt like one of those Bum of the Month guys!"
In week two it was Jersey Joe Walcott.
"Cagey, fast, quick witted, with a bit of salt and pepper on his punches!", smiled Rogan.
"He had me guessing the entire ten rounds. He gave me a boxing lesson, but I learned a lot from that match!"
In the third week, it was Joe Frazier's turn at Rogie, and the beating lasted seven rounds.
"That left hook feels like a hot knife through butter man," said the Irishman,
"Cracked my cheek bones he did. I didn't give in though, the referee stopped it and thank Jesus he did! If it wasn't for the Louis and Walcott matches, I wouldn't have lasted two rounds with Smokin' Joe."
Week four brought Wladimir Klitschko and a new series of problems.
"Most EVERYBODY I have ever fought has been eye to eye level you know? Outside of Fury, this was the tallest and biggest all around man I've ever faced," recalling Rogan's eight round battle with the 6'7" 245 pound Ukrainian giant.
"How can you get passed an 85 inch reach? Especially when there's a battering ram right behind it? There ought to be a Super Heavyweight division in boxing."
Rogan took off weeks five, six ,seven, eight, nine and (so far) ten to recoup from his quartet back-to-back meetings with legendary fistic greats.
"I'm still in this game!", quips Rogie,
"I believe I'm more than deserving at a shot at the CPU Championship!"
To a nicer guy, it couldn't happen, we hope to see Rogan face off against the winner of Stribling vs McVea in the near future.

FALL FROM GRACE, OR INJUSTICE?
Jack Dempsey's Bizarre #23 Rating
Week 9 - Sam McVey - Majority Draw 10
Week 8 - Larry Holmes - L SD 15
Week 7 - Sonny Liston - KO 8
Week 6 - Billy Miske - W UD 10
Week 5 - Sonny Liston - L MD 12
Week 4 - Jim Braddock - W TKO 8
Week 3 - Andrew Golota - W TKO 6
Week 2 - Malik Scott - W TKO 10
Week 1 - Rocky Marciano - Majority Draw 12
How is it that a hotly disputed decision loss and a controversial draw somehow relegate one of the division's most feared contenders to the dustbin of obscurity, below Cruiserweights like Jean Marc Mormeck and Vasiliy Jirov?
The only man this publication is aware of who kayoed the fearsome Sonny Liston (a feat Jack Johnson couldn't do!) and broke even with the current WBC Heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano.... Is now begging for scrap opportunities from essentially journeymen.
How can this be? How could this of happened? To the Manassa Mauler? The Genetic Jackhammer?
![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)
Just two weeks ago he was fighting for the championship of the world. It doesn't make sense. Not in this SimUniverse or any other kind of Universe.
The commission is mum on the issue, but I'd rather see Dempsey in the ring against the likes of Riddick Bowe and Gene Tunney and Muhammad Ali than the current challengers (no offense).

Mormeck: The Risk Taker!
A Cruiserweight who battles mostly Heavyweights, he's only had two losses in the SimUniverse: ironically the top two Cruiserweights in the world,
James Toney (for the title) and
Juan Carlos Gomez early on in the season.
Though penciled in this week for battle with Pete Rademacher, the possibility exists that Mormeck may fight for
Riddick Bowe's WBO title since he's having problems finding a challenger.
Though it's highly unlikely, being that Mormeck is a "third tier candidate" when the likes of
Larry Holmes and
Max Schmeling are most likely to accept, it's a testament to the willingness of the Frenchman.
Week Eleven is where we'll absolutely see that willingness put to the test, when Mormeck enters the PRIZEFIGHTER tournament alongside
Tommy Morrison and
Jack Dempsey among other powerful hitters in a series of three-round bouts.
We caught up with Mormeck and asked him WHY he felt so compelled to enter in this most unusual arrangement when he's already on a pathway to another title shot at Cruiserweight anyways.
"My logic is this. These all-time greats are predictably dangerous in the standard ten, twelve and fifteen round contests. But if you take away the longevity of the bouts, then it favors the smaller and quicker men. It puts all of us on an even playing field. I start fast, I work fast. Look at my wins, it's almost always stoppages early on," explains Mormeck.
And he's right. Look at the record. Ross Purrity, his last opponent, was stopped in four rounds. Bobick fell in eight rounds. Camel fell in seven. Rademacher is expected to also fall early, if indeed Mormeck isn't selected to fight Bowe.
Still, the odds makers are against him.
"If I'm wrong, I'm wrong," says Mormeck,
"The experience will only improve my standing among the Cruiserweights and I'll be ever the more closer to another shot at the title."

TWO FIGHTS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE: MORMECK VS TIOZZO, A RIVALRY IN THE MAKING!!!
Both men, at the last minute have decided to fight each other in Week #10 and will meet again in Week #11 in the PRIZEFIGHTER tournament
![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
they are the two of the highest rated Cruiserweights in the world (other than Toney and Gomez and Jirov) and it's sure to be fireworks!
The two Frenchmen have absolutely no opponents in common, so it's anyone's guess how this match will go!

SERRANO BREAKS EVEN, FELLOW TEAM MATES FALL FLAT ON THEIR FACES: IS THIS THE END OF THE LINE FOR THE CAVALCADE OF CHAMPIONS?
Amanda Serrano goes to a 10 round draw with Mary Jo Sanders in a spirited contest that showed a doubting public that Serrano is still in the running for the women's championship; she's gone unbeaten since losing by decision to Natascha Ragosina in week five running three wins and two draws.
Teammates Tyson Fury, Jean Marc Mormeck and former WBC Heavyweight champion Jack Johnson all lost by knockout or stoppages due to cuts. Fury was dropped for the count in round eight to Ken Norton, the third clash between the two men.
The losses of Mormeck and Johnson are particularly bizarre, as they both were defeated by men rated lower than themselves. Mormeck, for a time, looked as though he would defeat Fabrice Tiozzo only to get worn down the stretch. Johnson, on the other hand, was the apparent victim of freak bad luck getting cut in round two and the fight being halted to a stop in round four.
Mormeck blames the loss on over training. The constant switch from Rademacher to Bowe back to Rademacher to Tiozzo, ultimately wore the Frenchman thin. "If we meet again in the PRIZEFIGHTER tournament, it'll be a different story," said Mormeck solemnly.
Johnson, more annoyed than anything else, chalked it up to "just one of those things" that happen from time to time. "I wasn't beating him and he sure as hell wasn't beating me, it was a freak occurrence. Nobody seriously can believe that I actually lost in any real fashion to Evander, and that I ain't really one of the top five best."
This week, manager Homicide Henry has decided to play it by ear. "Fury needs to get his confidence back. So from here on out, for a long while, he's going to rebuild himself. Mormeck is doing Prizefighter and I think he's got a shot at making the top three. As for Amanda and Jack, she's got Hannah Fox locked in her sights, and Jack... Well... It's up to him what he wants and where he goes."

MARCIANO & ALI, THE HEAVYWEIGHT SUPERMEN JUST KEEP STEAM ROLLING THROUGH THE HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION!
Ali easily decisions Cruiserweight Champion James Toney in his 3rd title defense, and Marciano overcomes enormous size and reach and weight disadvantages to stop the 6'8" Ukrainian giant Vitali Klitschko former WBO champion of the world.
These two men are destined to collide in the first Heavyweight Championship unification match, but the question on EVERYONE'S lips is this: "Who is the greatest heavyweight of the SimUniverse?"
Only time will tell. Marciano's got to make one more title defense before he can qualify to do a unification match. If he's successful in that venture then it's anybody's boxing match!
