I think a mid round stoppage, they'll probably start cautiously, but it won't last once it heats up

I think it really depends on AJ , and what he comes out like , If he's defensive , he gets stopped , he seems to have a good chin , but not a great one ,, So if he's defensive the unothordox way that Wilder fights will be AJ's downfall , Its hard to tell what a guy like Wilder is gonna come out with , he throws shots from positions and angles he's not supposed to , with his power it makes him dangerous
,,,, UNLESS,,,,,
Aj puts him on the back foot , aggression behind a high guard and AJ destroys him easy , just keep him moving backwards and hopefully off balance and AJ will land a big one .
The difference in opponents will soon show , but AJ has to be aggressive behind a solid defence ,, AJ easy or Wilder ko's him ,
So basicly I hav'nt got a clue , so i'll say whoever lands first ā¦

Wilder will hold his own for a while but sooner or later I expect Joshua to connect - hard - and it'll be too much for him.
Joshua by KO as Wilder's head disappears into row Z.

TBH I could see it the other way as well, I can't see wilder coming to be conservative and if HE lands it could be too much for AJ (Whyte rocked him lets be honest)
Interesting fight

As of now 54% thinks it's a Joshua stoppage, 26% Wilder stoppage.
Good to see so many opinions. Hopefully the fight gets made soon.

Wilder's wildness and crudity make him dangerous and hard to predict. But AJ is the better boxer and lands the cleaner punches.

Does Wilder get up from the shot that Wlad landed on Joshua? I suspect Wilder would have been out from a few shots Wlad landed on Joshua that night.
Wilder has a real chance of course but, he just telegraphs his shots too much for my liking.
You watch it be a bore fest despite everyone calling it a certain shootout!
If I were Joshua Iād be on him like a rash from the opening bell. Deontay can be a slow starter
That Vlad punch was a powerful shot but it wasn't on the chin, it landed on AJs cheek bone, an inch or 2 lower and I think AJ would have gone bye byes.
Wilder would have gotten up from that imo.
AJ wins by decision.

I think Wilder is an easy night's work for AJ.
I'm not convinced AJ is all that, but surely Wilder is worse ? Plus he has fragile written all over him.
Whenever I imagine them fighting, I see AJ snaps him like a twig - he's a bit better and so much bigger.,

I'll go with the guy with better technique.
My one concern is Joshua's stamina, if Wilder can survive the 1st six and make Joshua move, then he could outlast him and stop him.
I just think Joshua will land something big first and end it before it gets that far.

I've gone for AJ on points with very little confidence.
Wilder's M.O is to back up and sling lightning fast powerful right hands so I expect Joshua will not be reckless, keep it long and concentrate on keeping in position and his feet and hands exactly where they should be.
We saw how conservative he was against Parker and Wilder is taller, faster and more powerful.
I can easily see AJ trying to further his pure boxer credentials by picking away with a jab and stepping around to avoid the chance of catching anything coming back over and over again making it a low risk stinker.

Joshua win. Wilder will be forced onto the back foot. Wouldn't surprise me if we don't actually see him throw the right hand much. He,s been throwing it with abandon against smaller reached fighters. Wait till a guy doesn't need to force himself into range. Wilder will need to take risks with the right hand. The thing is he doesn't really take risks.
He tries to sneak into range....ready to get out if the opponent tries to close the range. Jabs. With the right hand ready for the opponent coming in. Joshua's size and reach will take that away from him. My guess is he,ll start backing up when he doesn't have the safety of the reach advantage. From there Joshua should be able to dictate the fight off the jab. Wilder won't punch with Joshua. He knows he's fragile. Molina almost knocked him out after all.
Take wilders reach advantage out of the equation and you,ll see a guy who,s not that sure what to do. I predict wilder fighting scared. And choking on throwing that right hand. When your fighting a guy the same size with the same sort of reach....and don't like taking risks. Your gonna end up choking. Joshua will dictate this fight. And catch him with something way before desperation kicks in for wilder. Joshua's quite a distance to reach. The guy that gives him problems will be pressure fighters that go forward. Or a really skilled fighter in klitchko. No ones had success against Joshua on the backfoot. They can't get nothing off on him. Someone with wilders reach could. But wilders problem against joshua is he doesn't move into the punch. That's what will kill him. Joshua would need to make a massive mistake to get caught with the right hand.
Wilder will box off the back foot scared...pretty much relying on the jab. Joshua will catch up with him eventually.

Before the Wilder/Ortiz fight I would have confidently picked AJ but since Wilder has shown he can come through a good test like that, I have no idea. This one is going to have one of those truly special, edge of your seat big fight nerves feeling.
It could be first to land wins, and I really hope that's Joshua as I'm a huge fan of his.
