I'm not surprised the crowd are booing. Joyce reminds me of a young George Foreman, the lumbering style and the way he walks through opponents that on paper should have done much better than that. Difference is Foreman turned pro a lot earlier and had more time, so now 'Re' Joyce has to make a virtue of being in a hurry.

Dreadful, I knew straight away Bacurin wasn't getting up, he was happy to get out ASAP, in all fairness the first right hand Joyce hit him was behind the head and the finishing left might have been as well, behind the ear/temple at best
Its hard no to be critical, I know Bacurin was a late replacement but still its balls, Joyce was moving about better than he has done, he cut the ring off well but who knows if he would've reverted to type

I've never bothered to watch Joyce before, his technique is horrendous. What is with the weird bobbing style, it looks so forced, and slow. Anyone with speed could go right down the pipe

Agreed, shocking technique and painfully slow, looks like he punches through treacle.

He's nothing special but in this day and age where Whyte is a PPV star then he's definitely got the tools to do some damage I reckon....

Oh yeh,and he'll get away with that style for a while until he steps up the quality of opponents, would love to see him and Hughie now.

I know he is still relatively slow, but was I the only one who thought Joyce showed a real improvement in his handspeed tonight, compared to his first fight and Olympic days? Didn't get much chance to demonstrate it I guess but he looked faster to me anyway.

While he looks slow and cumbersome he is one of those guys whose size, strength and awkwardness make him damn difficult to beat.
If his chin holds up I don't think anyone will fancy the job.
I can't see Hughie taking it unless it was for a world title or maybe both will find it so difficult to get anyone to fight them they may have no other choices!
Saying that I think he is too old to change his spots so I don't think it will be a great idea to change his style too much.
He has a great engine, he doesn't need to bulk up, standing tall with his hands up worked well.
