Jennings has won 5 of the first 6 rds with the one he lost obviously being a 10-8. Dimitrenko is getting tired.

How do you have Jennings winning the first 2? He didn't throw anything. More of a wrestling match with Dimitrenko landing the odd right hand. Thought Dimitrenko won the first 2+KD, and he now won the 7th clear.

Dimitrenko barely survives. Guy got hit with a temple shot and couldn't recover. Looks like it's over for him.

Was it really gonna matter? He was down like 8 points at least.

Jennings vs. Kaybel/Miller/Kownacki would be a logical next step.

Give him the opportunity. This is the HW division. Any single punch can change things, and Dimitrenko did have Jennings hurt with his right hand. It's not like Dimitrenko was getting dominated throughout.

Surprised one of the commentators said that Jennings improved. Not sure about that for one, but I do know Jennings is not anywhere near elite. Dimitrenko is not an elite fighter, and Jennings was struggling with him.

As I said, Jennings' only real chance is to make a name for himself. Bradley said Charles Martin. That'd indeed be a good fight so would Andy Ruiz Jr. These are the type of fights Jennings needs to be looking at. He's a no-hoper against Wilder or Joshua.

jennings looks worse to me then before his inactivity, he didnt look good last fight vs dawjeko either, hes still a decent fighter and top 15 but i think hes underdog to several guys

I remember either reading or him saying he walked around at 180 between camps. I wouldn't be surprised if he's 200 now.

This Jennings win makes Ortiz look a lot better for beating him. Imo we already saw the two best heavyweights fight each other (Wilder/Ortiz).

joe parker destroyed dimitrenko in 3 , without getting floored, does that make aj and whyte look like gawds now

Jennings is not known as a big puncher. He’s clearly just a level below the top fighters (and there are only 4: Wilder, AJ, Ortiz, and Povetkin). I’d favor him over Whyte.

maybe but surely applying the logic of ortz now appearing better because of jenns w tonght leads to whyte and aj havng had an even bgger boost....since they beat a guy who destroyed dim w/o any of the issues jenn had...such as getting dropped and losing other rounds

At some point the eye test has to be used. There is no one in the heavyweight division with the skill of Ortiz. What hurts him is his late arrival on the big stage. He fought valiantly verse Wilder, and I think he’d be just as likely to win against any of the top fighters as they would against him.

You what mate? :KO:

Alexander Povetkin is an Olympic gold medalist. By the way, he had so much skills, he looked like crap against Malik Scott and David Allen.

The way I see it Ortiz ' win over Jennings is devalued not enhanced, by the fact that Dimitrenko managed to floor him. Back when Jennings looked like a contender, Ortiz' demolition of him looked spectacular, in fact it was the making of his reputation. Other than old man Tony Thompson, Ortiz hasn't beaten anyone, but his crushing of Jennings was enough to convince me he was a superb technician and a thunderous puncher.

Dimitrenko was never a contender and is now only arguably top 50. His performance against Jennings calls into question Jennings' credentials as a top 20 contender, so Ortiz' best win is over a man who is just inside or outside the top 20. So what is his next greatest achievement - beating Thompson or lasting ten rounds with Wilder?

He had an extensive amateur career but he didn't make much of an impact at world level did he?

I think one redeeming factor for Jennings is that Dimitrenko is a very big man who can punch (ask Adrian Granat) so the fact Jennings got up may be more significant than the fact he got dropped. I may be being too kind.

I can't imagine any top contenders will have watched Jennings' performance last night and be quaking in their boots. He did well but nothing outstanding against a European level boxer. He could probably outwork some of the less fit, old guys that are still ranked.
