Povetkin is a quality fighter whose been in many big fights only losing to Klit in points.
"Many big fights"... Can you name 5 of them that count, or am I missing something?
He won IBN eliminator with Byrd (good fight at this stage of his career, but Byrd was definitely past-prime) and then Chambers (which was really good win, Chambers was hot prospect and unbeaten at that point). That makes 1 big fight. Then he did everything to avoid Wlad and not much after losing to him. OK, Wlad is 2nd big fight.
As he was avoinding punchers for most of his career, and now he is close to 40, he would be lucky if he goes full distance with AJ.
He didn't avoid Price. I rate Price over AJ for power.

That is about it with price though.
Pov would have known that price for some reason cannot control the range with his jab and is very vunerable to shots from the inside.
AJ will probably control the distance better, use his jab better and try to keep pov from getting inside where his hooks are lethal

while Poverkin is on the slide I see him as a level above Wilder
Boxer skill wise yeah but the answer to the question is no. Boxing skills aren't a factor in danger level... Wilder can throw explosive blows from weird angles at any time after doing very little

pretty much every fight wilders done the best stuff from conventional angles, with the right cross. him getting all unconvential is why so many guys have avoidrd his shots and gone deep into fights with him after being hurt early, like eric molina
this is one of my big pet peeves right now, the idea that wilders unconventiality is some big added strength and thats mr right hand is just sooo unpredictable and thats a plus too
this seemed to really start simply because he did a little side step before a knock down vs punching bag stiverne in there rematch , of course stiverne was already in trouble in the first place from a simple right cross head on

I think Povetkin is a better fighter than Wilder, at the moment he would beat Wilder and prove a harder fight for Joshua.
Joshua will still win though.

Before seeing him in against Price I would of said he would of been a very dangerous fight for Joshua but after watching it I thought he looked shot to be honest. I'm not a big fan of AJ far from it but I think he deals with Povetkin quite handily
