Impressive KO win tonight ...who knows with Matchroom and Sky backing that could lead to Dave headlining a PPV event !
Not that long ago he went the distance toe to toe with tonight’s PPV headliner ( shocking fight ) and his KO against the unbeaten Webb was just as convincing as Whytes demolition of the totally out of condition and rather basic Big Daddy Browne.
Eddie can sell ice to an Eskimo and sand to an Arab !

It was good knockout tonight but he needs to pull his finger out and get some proper training in, Allens got everybody backing him and he still pissing about? This could well be the highlight of his career? I hope not.

I was wondering that also. Last post on Twitter early June. 9 times out of 10 its either health issues or Business issues. Hope to see him back.

In light of what Allen had to say only recently his heart really isn't in to it any more. That said, it was a pretty good performance.
Allen in recent days has been throwing the bait out on social media to Lucas Browne. Browne has responded that he is very keen.

Allen Vs Browne... Jesus
Might as well go down to your local pub at closing time if you want to see a fight like that.

A pretty good performance? Did you watch the fight? Dave Allen was a punch bag until he found that punch.

Boxing is like that. It's not how you get the job done. It's whether you get it done.
Based on his recent comments at least - Allen shouldn't have even been in the ring. So to come away with the win is in my opinion a good performance.

Allen's tactics were sensible, especially against a a big puncher. Basically, Dave let Webb come at him for three rounds, covered up and then let his hands go in the fourth. That's OK, it was a 10 rounder. Allen's durable, it's his strength.
A couple of body shots and then a big right hand. Over and out. Seems fair enough to me.
What do you want? Is Allen meant to blind him with hand speed and footwork, or wade in from the first bell, or what?
In hindsight, I agree it was good tactics etc.
However, on the other hand until that one single shot up until that point he just did what he always does - plod forward, taking shots and not throwing anything back.
Reading his twitter he said that in the 5 weeks before the fight the only training he had done was a couple of runs, one session on the pads and some weights.
Despite this, he is now taking a few weeks off - why? (and off what!) - I would have thought that with a bit of enthusiasm he could have done some cardio and bag work at least to keep his fitness and weight in order.
I am not sure if the win will do him any favours long term.

I think he does like him, he's talked about him well in the past.
Coked out of it froch saying hearn stopping Joshua-Wilder happening was pretty funny.
Froch is not coked up

Indeed, it's a bizarre and baseless accusation to chuck around.

I'd like to see Allen come back with some proper training under his belt and give it a real go.
Same here.
Allen is nothing special, but he has a shot at winning the British, against the right opponent. (Sexton or Cornish for example)

It was a great shot from Allen to finish Webb, he nailed him with the same shot moments before which stunned Webb, a fight with Browne would be ludicrous I think, he should be going for guys like Sexton, Cornish or Price

Price would be alright to see considering where they're both at....

Not sure a fight with Browne would be ludicrous. Perhaps not his best way forward though.

Allen could probably get a decent 50k plus pay day out of Hayemaker for a Joyce fight.
