Yeah Ortiz shouldnt get any credit for this fight, i just hope it was a comeback and keep active kind of fight and he will be quickly back to the ring with someone decent in 3 or 4 months, it would be perfect to see him fighting Pulev

i agree, he should be back soon in a meaningful fight with an opponent at least in the top 100! (cojanu is 126 on boxrec..)
hes already old and doesnt have much time to waste. no need to drop so low after giving wilder a great fight.

don dennis already blasted cojanu out, its no more a bad look for parker then it already was to have cojanu go the distance. this fight really wasnt significant at all, everyone beats cojanu
but yes with the loss today ortiz rates abive parker
The Ortiz KO does more damage to Parker than the Dennis KO. Ortiz and Parker should have been in everyone's top 5 HW's going in, so the results would be measured within that regard. Dennis stopped him over three years ago, while Parker fought him a little over a year ago. When people were hyping up Parker as this tough opponent for AJ and I mentioned the Parker fight and what Dennis did to him, I heard Cojanu improved, everybody gets caught with a lucky shot here and there, etc. The Parker/Cojanu result was a huge red flag to me because Cojanu is pretty bad. There was zero excuse to me why Parker couldn't stop him.
Parker losing today made it insignificant anyhow. My point being after losing to Whyte, the Ortiz result should even drop him down a few more pegs in the division. Ortiz destroyed a guy in two rounds that went 12 with Parker, winning some rounds in the process. This destruction was no accident as evidenced by Dennis destroying him as well. I know you can't always measure out A beats B, so B can beat C, etc, and other formulas like that. Still, Charles Martin would stop Cojanu. Parker has lost two in a row, I thought he lost to Ruiz too. Takam was a really close fight. Some people were saying he'd KO Wilder after the AJ fight. Truth of it, he's nothing special. He's probably a C+ level HW that got really lucky to be fighting in a era of bad HW's, and still got lucky to win a belt.
Doesn't mean anything at all. Parker did a lot better against Joshua than Ortiz would do against Joshua. Parker also has a deeper resume than Ortiz.
Parker is one of the most inconsistent fighters ever is all.
Saying that Parker did better than Ortiz would do against Joshua is really just opinion, until the fight happens. Parker isn't inconsistent, he's just not as good as people made him out to be. Lost to AJ and Whyte. Could have conceivably lost to Ruiz. Fury and Takam fights were close. Ok, so, what is Parker's great performance? In order to be inconsistent, he'd have to have some great performances, to go with some bad ones. Who did he beat that makes you think this guy is something special?
I'm not comparing Parker with Ortiz just based off the Cojanu fight. It does raise a huge red flag though why Parker couldn't stop that guy, even lost some rounds to him. Ortiz's wins vs Jennings & Thompson are just as good as any win Parker has, IMO. I think Ortiz is better than Parker, and is the #3 HW currently. Parker, who people on this site were claiming was #2 even after the AJ loss, is near the bottom of the top 10. In a weak division, that's not saying much.

Is Miller vs Ortiz being discussed? Seems like a natural matchup and I'm sure HBO would pay for it.

The top million would be nice.

Ortiz was obviously going to win, but not sure of Cojanu was totally out of it. Maybe premature stoppage.
Regardless bad fight.

Cojanu should have stayed still and composed himself. Instead he moved quickly to grab hold of the ropes, didn't reach out far enough and lost his equilibrium. He then crashed head first to the canvas. That error cost him precious recovery time.

going by some of the logic here, chisora is now a bigger puncher and better then ortiz , aj, povetkin, and parker
those compartively fast wins over scott and takam baby
unless for some strange biased reason you only want to cherrypick the cojanu comparison
and kownacki > wilder

So, if directed at me, not sure why.
