The referee will always make the knockdown call. Not judges.

In all of the smaller shows I've been to the judges were together, and the same with the amateurs I've seen. You're right that I can't recall the judges ever sitting together for a highish level fight. Possibly it's a mandate from the big four bodies?

I don't blame his management for trying the incorrect ruling of a knockdown changed the fight result.

That said, Parker seemed far too bloody nice most of the fight, he needed to give Whyte as good as he got, and given him some rough stuff back, all of the touching gloves was a bit sickening, he was even grinning at Whyte after rounds, and looked way too happy with the decision.

I don't reckon Parker will make any great strides after this, he has decent boxing skills, but he seems to lack the fire in his belly.

The ref made a total hash of that clash of heads though, surely this is a situation where we should have scoring changed with video evidence - seems ludicrous in this day and age that such a glaring error can't be rectified and the judges instructed to disregard the knockdown, and inform both corners this has happened. It's not fornicating rocket science, there's cameras all over the gaff.

I've never worked an amateur show where the judges have sat together. Obviously with five judges there will always be two who are at the same side of the ring.

I've only worked a few pro fights with three judges, but they've always been round three sides. Can't think of nay pro title fights I've been to where they weren't. I'll have a look aty the BBB of C rulebook later regarding it.

Absolutely.
The ref made a mistake - but appealing is just sad.

Parker lost because he was doing his job with a colleague at work, Whyte was doing everything he could (fair or not) to hurt Parker - anything to win.
IF Parker had "The Villian's" "win at all costs" mentality he probably woulda got a draw or win.
But he didn't - so give it up.
