She has hit me a few times. It isn’t a fun experience. She is great, though, and always good to hook up with. The last time we met she gave me a lift to a hotel where I was due to meet James Toney. I’d given up coffee at the time but she plied me with lattes and I ended up in the toilets for ages. I came out, she sprinted over and said “He’s been waiting for you, you effing useless knobhead!”, and pulled me over to where Toney was sat.

I’d waited decades to meet my boxing idol and ended up looking like a kid who is getting dragged in front of the headmaster by his own mum.

Cheers! It worked out OK in the end. Toney took a shine to me and extended our interview by a few hours, which was lucky as my first 10 questions were solely about the Charles Williams fight. We ended up talking about bounty hunting and I mentioned Midnight Run. Toney high-fived me and said: "Great film. My man De Niro". I literally felt like I was invulnerable for at least 16 days after getting a high-five from Toney. He invited me to watch his exhibition fight, my only chance to watch him fight live, but I declined — I prefer to live with the memories of what he used to be.

And to think I'd spent about an hour the previous day face down on the bed telling my wife why I wasn't going to Bristol to do the interview. She listened patiently, then told me to stop being a complete and utter arsehole.

The women definitely won the day for me on that one.

Since then every time I meet someone I tell them who I am and then say: "I met James Toney, and he really liked me".

My next job interview will be interesting.

Ive never known anyone talk bad about Jane, while I dont know the full story, it seems she was quite hurt that after intriducing Kugan around, going out of her way to help him out and set him up, remember she was doing her video thing at the time, suddenly she was cut out of everything, something stinks for sure

I know she did feel hurt and letdown over the whole situation. She is doing well with her business now and is still living on a farm as far as I can tell. Boxing isn't good for your health in any capacity so fair play to her.
