I suppose if back in the 70's or 80's, people like McEnroe and Connors; Coe and Ovett; Revie and Clough; or McCartney and Lennon had decided to settle their diffeRences in the ring, it would have drawn a crowd. This is today's equivalent.
This would be the greatest PPV show EVER tbf - what an undercard, what a main event !!

Try explaining to your 13 year old about the belts and who is champion, and watching their eyes glaze over...
To be fair, it is a bit ridiculous when you need to go into a 10 minute explanation when someone asks who the heavyweight champ is
You must say ‘Anthony Joshua’ really slowly

No, I just sing ‘Ooh Anthony Joshua’ to the tune of Seven Nation Army until they leave me alone

Sounds like a great fight offa The Independent (ahem??!) Live RBR blog of the fight.
Let's face it we're all jealous - have a little play at boxing, get fit, have a real fight in front of a full house @ the MEN and make AJ money for doing it.

The only sensible way forward is that one of them fights Briedis and the other Usyk. Make sure the front row wears macs to that, they wouldn't want youtuber blood on their tuxes.

The black guy came in to the ring thinking he was Naz! Cocky little knob end! I don't mind that kind of thing if you are able to back it up but for a guy whose never fought before? He was genuinely pish! A lot fitter than the other dude though. The other guy gassed out but at least he'd actually done a bit of training and took it on board. Tried to jab and was successful with the one twos early on etc.... Think my son would've had a meltdown if that KSI guy got beat

I know absolutely nothing about this KSI individual or the other guy, but I get the feeling if I had a Son that thought he was the sh*t that would annoy me greatly because I have hard time imagining that both of these dudes aren't insufferable jackasses

Never heard of either of them, but amused to see it apparently ended in a draw ....so I guess they have to do it all again and make another pot of money. Couldn't see that coming. The Yoof totally taken in.

Apparently, it's a worldwide trend now. It happened in Poland too, local youtubers made even a federation called Fame MMA (but the main event was actually boxing in the cage) and in main event fought a guy that makes live streams of his pathological life, he's binge drinking with his friends and family, they beat each other, they're vomiting and also doing what people ask him to do, of course these people are donating him. This kind of youtube streaming is called a "pathostream" i heard. The other guy i have no idea who he was, just another youtuber.

Sad enditement on society that this pish can have 100 million people watching

Celebrity rules these days. Until people learn not give two fcuks what others think about them, there will be no healing in the world my brothers.

We on a one way dive into oblivion and ain't no muthafukka gonna stop this train blud.

The illuminati have thrown their evil plan into overdrive and are herding us like cattle for the final cull. Divert our thoughts from the control systems being established each year by filling out heads with absolute meaningless shite.

20 years tops and this place is gonna blow. Get your bunkers ready boys' this shiiiiit gonna get ugly.

Heard of Logan Paul because he was all over the news for posting a video of a suicide victim.

Heard of KSI because he had a "fight" at the Copperbox earlier in the year.

Outside of that I don't know anything about them. I'd heard of the "fight" 2-3 weeks ago because it was mentioned on the boxing asylum podcast. But this was all over BBC news today and yesterday.

Different gate numbers have been thrown about. I looked at tickets earlier in the week and plenty were left. 10,000-12,000 seems about right.

But put that attendance figure into perspective the Fury v Klisctho rematch had not sold that many before it was cancelled, Hughie Fury vs Joseph Parker had less than half to a third of that. I've been to a few FW shows in recent years with a lot less in attendance.

It was a 2-fight deal. There was always gonna be a rematch in Feb 2019 in the states.

Everyone at the arena was confused as to what majority draw meant

It did 800k PPV same as AJ Takam  it was 6 rounds with head gear between two guys who don't box, apparently a lot of fans were disappointed with the fight as they were saying they would smash each other to bits  No wonder the Nigerian's with money they need moving abroad do so well, we live in a world full of mugs. Btw as it was a draw the rematch is in the works. :yay:

Fvcking depressing state of affairs, I know its an old cliché that every thing was much better "back in our day" and "all the music sounds the same these days" but unless ive slipped into Dad mode, its all frigging true, my 11 year old daughter spends her days watching this retarded gimp playing Fortnight on youtube, the sheer sound of his voice drives me insane, if there gonna make talentless twats millionaires then wheres my fuckn money

That’s not the case though, both threads were on the same sub, so clearly it had no positive impact on the actual boxing thread. If anything, this kind of event puts people off the real thing.
