I'll join you on the twat boat mate, this looks as likely to me as Tyson-Holyfield III or Benn-Eubank III.tobyh5 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 08:40 I may end up looking an utter twat here if it happens but i thought it was clearly banter and fcking around and am a little surprised anyone is commenting or reporting on this as if it was anything other than a bit of banter between two old foes. Plus obviously it would amuse Floyd to take a little attention away from Canelo / GGG

I am guessing you think any win over a debutant should be erased, or any win over someone over-matched? Jesus we will be here a while re-writing the record of every boxer in historyleejonesjnr wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 12:37Nah.thechump wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 12:27Or 51-0leejonesjnr wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 12:23 If Floyd were to win a Pac rematch it would take his record to 50+1 and 0
Current record is 49+1, another win would be 50+1.
What is the +1?leejonesjnr wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 12:37Nah.thechump wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 12:27Or 51-0leejonesjnr wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 12:23 If Floyd were to win a Pac rematch it would take his record to 50+1 and 0

Because the Mayweather-Irish wrestler whose name escapes me fight was a special case mate, 'cos even though it took place under boxing rules & was sanctioned by a boxing commission & involved two people boxing it "doesn't count" for... reasons.

Is that win any different than the ton of pro debut fighters and 0-1 0-2 …..etc that are on Julio Ceasar Chavez's record?Datsue wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 13:45Because the Mayweather-Irish wrestler whose name escapes me fight was a special case mate, 'cos even though it took place under boxing rules & was sanctioned by a boxing commission & involved two people boxing it "doesn't count" for... reasons.
This is what Lee sees when he looks at the record of someone who's been in Prizefighter, for instance:

Nope, not at all mate, I'm agreeing with you. Nor is the Mayweather fight he's referring to different to all those Thais who fight novices & part-timers between title fights in stay-busy affairs... Off the top of my head Pongsaklek Wonjonkam fought a bloke who had about two fights when he was flyweight champ & something like 75-4.tiny_acres wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 15:14

Meh, I don’t have any feelings about the opinion of strangers on the internet, laugh away.Datsue wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 16:13Nope, not at all mate, I'm agreeing with you. Lee's weird thing about it just made me laugh, mate, so I decided to rip the piss out of him for being silly. The brackets thing was a self-referential joke 'cos I said up-thread that the WSB fighters (Lomachenko etc) must do his fuckin' head in if he has to add special characters to Mayweather's record—Usyk probably had as many fights in the World Series as he's had as a pro!

Hey, don’t try to devalue Enzo’s win over RJJ! Of course in person if I discuss boxing with someone it is because they know the value of the Connor McGregor win, they know what Enzo beating RJJ means, likewise Bellew beating Haye, Valuev beating Holyfield or Spinks beating Ali. If a person doesn’t know these things then I won’t bother wasting both our time discussing boxing.
We all know the value or lack of value of such wins but they are wins, in professional boxing and they count on a record which is showing all bouts taken part in. Our knowledge of their worth does not mean they are not legitimate wins of a contest between two men. So what if one is vastly superior, or one is miles past his best, or if one is a disputed decision, respect the fcking records man. Like everyone, know they got lucky, were gifted, had an easy win at some point, but records are official records. End of.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 18:21Meh, I don’t have any feelings about the opinion of strangers on the internet, laugh away.Datsue wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 16:13Nope, not at all mate, I'm agreeing with you. You might be surprised. Even some people interested enough in the sport to post regularly on boxing forums are not bright enough to recognise a flippant comment about a silly contest for what it is and may think that someone literally edits and compiles their own unofficial records.tobyh5 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2018, 01:39We all know the value or lack of value of such winsleejonesjnr wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 18:21Meh, I don’t have any feelings about the opinion of strangers on the internet, laugh away.Datsue wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 16:13

It's Floyd, still the biggest name out there and lot of people would still want to see that "0" go and ironically if it did, I doubt fans will be putting this big ole * next to it in the same way they want to negate the McGregor win.
Manny looked okay in one fight since, awful in his fight before. Manny was on a pretty good run prior to Mayweather 1.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑17 Sep 2018, 08:53 Pacquiao has looked good since, so the sell would be that 'now he is the real Pacquiao he can win'.
Realistically I would watch it and it would definitely generate enough to pay each man $100m but I don't think it was anything more than a bit of fun and no real intention behind it. That said, seeds do grow into trees.
