If he is WBC diamond(a made up title for him in this tournament) then why not go and fight for the WBC full belt?

I can see Smith unifying the division and possibly making a play for all 4 belts. I just hope that Eddie doesn't go down the easy defence route.

We've dominated the SMW division throughout the last 15years or so. So why not go and continue that tradition. He could have an early January fight and then a big unification next summer at anfield.

Ramierz would be a difficult sell

Degale needs to show us something that he’s ready to go at the top level

Eubank jnr has absolutely no decent wind to justify he is ready

Smith isn’t an easy sell for Eddie Hearn either. Sure he’s heavy handed so every chance you’ll see a knockout, but is there a big following for smith?

I see a couple of low key defences being lined up for him from matchroom before any big event for sure

Yeah , that was what I was trying to say , take Smith out and it looks a bit poor at the moment considering how much we have dominated over the years with the great middle and super middles we've been blessed with

I think Smith would push him back and walk him down- Eubank's footwork and head movement aren't good enough to get away from the jab, which would just knock him back and keep him on the end of Smith's power. and I could easily see Smith timing him with that counter left as Eubank was lunging in wildly from the outside, I really think Smith would totally bludgeon Eubank.

I spy some easy defences ahead for him! Nevertheless I don't begrudge him getting financially secure but it would be nice to see some big fights.
I wonder how long he can make 12 stone for?

I should imagine due to his sheer physicality Smith would always look to take the centre of the ring and it must be a bloody nightmare to take that away from him .He must have reach over most Super middles.
We know junior is a tough lad though so I'm sure it would go some rounds .

He has been held back for over 2 years and now he is he best super middleweight in the world.

My bad, thought he missed one of the belts. Always thought Bute was holding one of the belts. But maybe that was during the super 6

The was no IBF.

callum is legitmately the best in the world. just a horrible handful to deal with. huge, hard hitting , very sharp hands upstairs and down/counter or leading, and stamina and durability seem on point. groves is a good puncher but his shots pinged off callum. maybe a bit slow footed and not much head movement but thats about it

too bad zurdo on a bum city diet and benavidez is obsessed with fighting ron gavril and doing coke. would like to see callum unfiy vs these types but not sure theyd be up for it. and now i think uzcategui is with top rank and will prob be stuck on there 'bum fight or in house' variety of scheduling

Actually the Super middle division is really light, decent paydays against Eubank and Degale, but there isn't much to really challenge him.
But there are some big fights against guys who would want to come down or go up.

Exactly right. Eubank jr took a bad enough hiding off Groves. A fight against Smith would be suicide.

The truth is, Eubank should be fighting down at middleweight. He's disadvantaging himself, and potentially significantly, fighting at 12 stone. His brutish, slinging come forward style doesn't have the same impact against bigger men. When he then faces bigger men who can box he is destined to lose as he doesn't carry one-punch knockout power.

It wasn’t a made up title for him. Smith was mandatory challenger before Jack fought DeGale. After he vacated, Smith and Dirrell was up/down negotiations. It was bound for USA, then the WBSS was announced and Smith thought he’d enter that instead. Some thought it was a longer route to get a world title because he could have fought for one in his next bout. Instead he’s entering an 8-man tournament. (at least it worked out for him, even though he’s technically got 1 world title).. since he was entering the tournament, the WBC said his first bout can be for the Diamond belt. Seeing as he was so patient and kinda gave up a chance become a wirld champion quicker.

Smith must have earned around £8m from the tournament. Arguably the best SMW in the world.. Ring Mag champion. Can fight for the WBC whenever he wants. He’s the A-side for any negotiations.

Did anyone see how happy Hearn was. WBSS helped build one of his fighters and he didn’t have to promote a single fight.
