For his amateur fights and all his cruiserweight fights he is listed as 6'1 or 6'1 1/4. If you doubt me go on YouTube.
I don't doubt that the teenage Lennox Lewis was 6'0" at some point, lol. But I do think somewhere along the line people stopped bothering to measure him, or took his trainer's word as to how tall he is. Besides men keep growing until, what, 21? Later?

Holyfield was listed at at least 6'2 for dozens of fights. Boxrec should not list him at below that.

He could be NOW... but he's damn near 60

people do shrink as time goes on. Mick Foley at one time was 6'4" but shrank to 6'2" because of all the injuries he sustained, but now he's 6'3" after much physical therapy.

from reading that page ...seems that means at his top heght. for some people it also has one height for current and one for peak heght
dunno how accurate but at least seems very thorough discussion !

I've met him more than once. He's closer to 6'3 than he is to 6'1.

He's 6'2" because when I was 7 years old I won the "Arnold's Fitness for Kids" sweepstakes and met both Arnold and Holyfield. Dad was with me and Dad was 5'11" and Dad found it funny that Ahnold was not his billed height of 6'1" and that Holyfield was taller than he expected.

could be but that site is ridiculously thorough (eg the chart when you scroll over the picture and the guy on the left wth very detailed measures of his own heght and exactly measured photos of what certain height differences will appear as from different photo views ) that to me its very credible..though dont now about holy specifically

Holyfield clearly not standing tall but still significantly larger than Arnold. Schwarzenegger, in reality, is closer to 5'11" the same height as my dad.

I don't mind fantasy matchups from different eras, but this one's not a serious question.

Prior to his transition to heavyweight Holyfield was always listed as 6'1 1/4. It's very rare for heights to be understated thus I'm inclined to believe that was his height.
Ali is listed at 6'2 1/2 vs Liston and Chuvalo and appears shorter than guys listed at 6'3 such as George Foreman and Larry Holmes.

Ali appears shorter because of how Foreman and Holmes are built--- wide shoulders, narrow hips, long thick arms, etc. It's sorta like my fight with J'Leon Love, where we look identical in height, but he was actually taller--- but because I have wide shoulders and a narrow waist, etc we looked the same height and weight when he was actually 27 pounds heavier (I was 154 on fight night & he was 180+).

I've seen some weird and wonderful fantasy match ups on here but I must admit I never expected to log in and see a Langford v Helenius thread.
Didn't take long to turn into a 'how tall is Evander Holyfield' thread in any case.

exactly. Magnificent comparision. Also hell of a war it was, love defibaugh 1 i mean. An instant classic. Rematch long overdue.
Joking. He looked, taller, heavier, broader shouldered, narrower waisted & more muscular/thicker "armed" than your ill prepared self. Also to call that thing a "fight" is quite a stretch.

Ali is also frequently listed at 6'2 1/2 and seems to have stated he was 6'2 1/2. That combined with photographic evidence points to him being 6'2 1/2. His drivers license also apparently listed him as 6'2 1/2.

Never claimed it was anything more than a slaughter

but... You certainly don't know what the hell you are talking about because... I'll use pictures later on to compare and physically there seems to be no real difference when in fact he was taller, heavier, etc.... BTW, BoxRec needs to get a handle on the multiple accounts problem on this forum

cus you haven't posted anything in a long while except to single this post out--- so that tells me you're some chickenshit who wants to hide under an alias.

As one can see it APPEARS we are the same HEIGHT--- but because I have wide SHOULDERS and a narrow WAIST and thick ARMS, I look the same SIZE--- when he actually was taller and heavier.
I NEVER ONCE said I was in similar condition, or was anywhere near athletic, or remotely close in any way shape or form to the man's league. You wanted to be a total dick for no reason. Period.
