Id say that at cruiser-weight there resumes will be pretty simular (assuming usyk wins tomorrow). i also believe usyk will have heavyweight sucses, but im not confident he will find enough fights there to pass holyfield. (note, moving up weight is easier if your on some lovely pharmaceuticals, i believe holyfield was, id like to believe usyk isn't but who knows.) but yea cruiser to cruiser id say usyk and holyfield are very close (differnt cruiser limit though...)

I'm a big holyfield fan and loved his style but his resume at cruiser isn't that outstanding I'd say no better than usyk it was the style he did it in , qwai was a old light heavy and Ossie was also old . Now I'm not saying usyk is better just that holyfield didn't have any serious challenges at cruiser

In the end, Usyk got the job done in devastating fashion.

But it wasn't enough to convince me that he should supplant Holyfield in any mythical ATG cruiserweight rankings.

As a cw Usyk is on a par with Holyfield.

Beating a guy that retired before the biggest fight of his life isn’t some epic win. Cruiserweight has always been JV to the heavyweight division. No ones ever wanted to be the BEST cruiserweight. It’s a layover for the big show at heavyweight. If this kid can beat the top heavys then I’ll say that he’s an all time fighter. Beating this old guy and the rest of the garbage at cruiserweight doesn’t get him mentioned when I put my all time list together.

Bellew held firm for 5 -6 rounds.

Given the massive size of heavyweights today it may be unrealistic to expect cruiserweights to compete there successfully.

Usyk has decent speed and approach variation.
He signals when he's hurt

Usyk should give Marius Briedis a rematch, that fight could have gone either way. The only close fight Holyfield had was against Braxton/Qawi in their first 15 round championship fight.

Usyk's resume is already better than Holyfield's CW resume.

It's a thin Heavyweight and Cruiserweight division anyways.

Yes he is.

Holyfield gets the benefit of legendary status plus an overview of his whole career. As far as CW goes though Usyk is superior if you’re able to look at it realistically.

Qawi’s CW resume is painfully thin. In fact by far the best part of his CW resume was his close loss to Holy.

Fantasy matchups are tricky so I try to avoid them when discussing all time rankings.

I do to the extent of qawis cruiser rating, but that doesn't detract from the monster that holy field faced. It's the best win either has.

During Holyfield rule the division was new and shallow.

Usyks wins have the opportunity to get better with time. Boxing is shallow in general now.
