Broner seems to think that nothing will penetrate his guard and stays far to long in the pocket in a guard position almost frozen while anyone capable is able to combo his ass and get some punches flowing. Freezing, not a disersble trait and one that all fighters that have beaten him have exploited.

Yup, and he sucks at countering so it's brief outbursts followed by 'defense'. He is a tough dude, gotta give him that. This will look like PAC/clottey only not at mannys full ped speed and broner will have a few moments.

Mate I was gonna mention clottey. Very similar fighters clottey and Broner.

I'm done wit Broner he just is not as good as many people think he is. He is not the same fighter since he got touched up by Maidana because since then he has become so worried about counters that he just does not throw enough punches to win rounds. Also, he thinks he is Floyd, trying to counter in the pocket and on the back foot , but his countering punching against Elite fighters is just not effective, and his defense is similarly deficient. I just re-watched the Mikey Garcia fight and it was an absolute wipe out. I could MAYBE give broner a round at the end of the fight but that is it. He thinks shelling up and getting hit with clean shots and then shaking his head means that the shots don't score which is just insane. He just is not as talented as people think. His best rounds against Mikey as you said where when he walked forward and threw more punches and was aggressive especially in the clinch. He is athletic and has some really good skills but Pac is entirely to fast, powerful and skilled for Broner who will revert to his low volume style when Pac punishes him for being aggressive.

Of course, Broner isn't Mayweather, but he can fight in a similar style, not that polished, however he can do enough to survive and avoid the biggest shots. Especially now, when Pac himself isn't prime.

No he can't. The reason Broner loses is because he thinks he can fight in a similar style to Floyd but he is not even close to as skilled as Floyd is. Broner is not half the counter puncher Floyd is and he does'nt have half the defensive and offensive skill and fight IQ that Floyd has. Adrien try's to use the high guard to catch and shoot and gets tagged with clean shots repeatedly, he attempts counters and misses over and over, he uses the philly shell and gets tagged, he boxes on the back foot and is just not effective. Broner is at his best when he walks forward and becomes aggressive, unfortunately Pac even at his age is not the fighter to be overally aggressive against. Pac will win this fight in convincing fashion.

I actually think the same. My point was, if Broner is really ready, he loses, but makes old Pac look not that special. But I'm not sure, that even this will happen.

I actually think the same. My point was, if Broner is really ready, he loses, but makes old Pac look not that special. But I'm not sure, that even this will happen.

Ok fair enough. My advice to you is to not hold your breath for Broner to be really ready as you say because people including myself have been saying that for years and have not seen anything to substantiate that a ready Broner exists. His most consistant trait is that he has lost all his big fights. lol The kid is so frustrating to discuss because at the beginning of his career he looked like he was going to be among the elites rather then a good fighter that can't some other good fighters and can't be any great fighters.

He's not good enough for that level. Maybe if PAC was 45.

Broner has to know this is his last big chance to get a truly marquee win in this sport, and make a bigger name out of himself like he's always wanted to. If he doesn't put the work in, and go all out for the win here he never will.

Broner cannot beat elite fighters, but is Pacquiao still an elite fighter at 40 years old?

Pac is clearly past his best, but I don't know if he's past it enough for Broner to beat him.

I think I might have to stay on the fence for this one.
