Yeah I'd have him out around 8 times in the next 12 months.

Hard to criticise his opposition really for a young guy with less than 10 fights. He's got to be allowed to learn his trade like everyone else.

In 18 months time he could easily have accumulated around 20 total fights under his belt and won't yet be 23. That would be the ideal opportunity to start pushing for bigger titles.

I don't have too much of a problem with this fight. Cojanu is a massive lump and has been much more active and less shopworn than Leapai.

maybe they could have cojanu vs leapai after , raz is so slow and clumsy and easy to hit i think even shopworn leapai could beat him

Will this be a better win for DDD than Johnson?

Yeah I think so. Johnson rarely turns up with any ambition nowadays. I'd like to see allegedly match Dubois and Gorman next year. Wasn't JDG and Groves both with allegedly when they fought? I can't remember.

Didn't do them any harm. DeGale had to go back to the drawing board but he became a better fighter/person for it I think.... Would be nice to see more fighters follow suit...

I wouldn’t mind seeing Dubois face Franz Rill, Robert Helenius and Adrian Granat. In that order too. Then they can go the Gorman route for whatever title is relevant at the time.

If I’m matching Gorman’s next couple of fights, I’d go for maybe Mansour, Dimitrenko, David Price. Not in that order.

Parker and Cojanu were sparring pals, no? At least if you believe the commentary. Cojanu was also a replacement, so it's very likely that Parker wanted a decent workout.

But most of all, Parker knew he was a league above and only had to avoid a huge mistake to win easily on points. Knocking out Cojanu wouldn't have done anything for his career, in stark contrast to the opposite occurring. I'm not saying that Parker could've smashed him in a couple of rounds, but he had no unfavourable reasons to try. (Unless he was unfit or injured, I suppose, but he wasn't.)

Dubois, on the other hand, wants to look good at this stage.

[edit]

Having said that, if I have a criticism of Parker it's that he fights like a game journeyman too often. And the respect between him and Kevin Barry has turned that into a bit of an elephant in the room. I think he's stuck at 90% of his potential, and I don't see that changing unless he brings in an ex-pro to fire him up. Or if not an ex-pro, just anyone he respects who wants to push him over that line.

Cojanu was last minute for Parker, and yes, they had extensively sparred together, which does not often make for a good fight. Added to that was Cojanu being so negative in his fight with Parker. He practically ran for 12 rounds, which was good training for Parker in his fight against Hughie
Let's hope Cojanu has a little more motivation to win against Doobie

Dubois isn't Ortiz, but it's hard to not imagine the same outcome. It's a benchmark, though, I guess.

Well, it shows that Dubois needs work if he can't finish it in 1-4. That's what I mean by a benchmark.

johnson made dub go 10 and find new ways to create offensive openings, raz will just be blown away, johnsins easily a better win then cojanu, with a far better record and more ability

i might be 'hating' on raz a bit, but seeing how dreadful he is even vs weak opposition like tex trisgmustus, grover wiley, alvarao morales, and don dennis....i just find it hard not to rag on him when people have acted like ortiz stopping him was a statement since parker didnt, or even when they say raz is a better win then far better johnson

Maybe you're right mate. I haven't put as much thought in to it as you. Johnson just bores me to tears. He doesn't seem motivated and hasn't done for years! I just thought the Romanian might have had a wee go?

Dubois takes this one, probably by a mid to late round KO.

But has anybody else noticed how Razvan looks a bit like Tommy "The Duke" Morrison in the face?!

It's uncanny.

If only Cojanu could conjure up the "fighting spirit" of Morrison!

But he just doesn't quite have the talent that Tommy had.
