Im trying to remember the one 90s or early 2000s who fought barrera ?
Richie Wenton in the US and Paul Lloyd in the U.K.
Paul lloyd i was thinking mate
He met a peak brutal Barrera that night and got a savage 1 round beating.

If the money is right, Who can blame them, I'd take a hiding of any pudendum for a million, I've had plenty without any payment

John Lowey was a strange one , never beat a fighter with a winning record before he faced Kennedy McKinney , lost in 8 rounds. Then he beat a couple of debutants, and won his only fight against someone with a winning record, from that he got a title shot against Eric Morales losing in 7 rounds.
Bit different as he based himself in America, I seem to remember there might of been a medical reason he went over there

Eddie gets some stick on here but if he has got his domestic level fighter a million for a fight he has done a great job.
I think Welborn got about 25k

Everyone knows Fielding is European level at his absolute best. Don’t blame him for taking a million plus for this, would take him 4+ fights to earn that dough.
He can still come back and earn ok money.

4+ fights? How much do you think domestic level fighters earn?

Yeh. He was probably slated to make £100k at the ECHO for his first defence.

Rocky sold his belt basically. Very poor performance. Never really wanted to be in there from the first bell.

Maybe the deal was, take the fight, take the money, and we'll only hit you in the body.

if fielding got 1m youd be mad to act like his team just trashed him
mcdonnells were both matched competitively. jam won 2x vs kameda and gsv fought fairly close vs roman
macklin and barker were not terrible challengers and both had credible efforts
often times these 'slaughters' are career best money by far

Youre wildly over estimating what British fighters earn.

Just seems what Hearns DAZN deal is,
Sign some yanks and have them smash his lesser British guys.
And further weaken his domestic cards here. Barring PPV, not one world title fight in over a year.

Hearn had an unbeaten world champion in the lucrative welterweight division. He's never been the same since he was sacrificed to PPV against a big puncher 2 divisions higher.

Considering what he did for AJ Froch and, of all people, Tony Bellew, Brook is one of the most mismanaged fighters in British boxing. He was genuinely a good fighter and seemed to balls it up at almost every turn.

Yes good point.
The standard of cards this year has been poor.
People saying British boxing is booming are talking rubbish.

Michael Jennings against Cotto and Gary Lockett against Pavlik - I believe both with Warren at the time.
This sort of stuff isn't anything new, only now the fighters are getting more money.

Kevin Lueshing vs Felix Trinidad was another one, Lueshing did have Trinidad on the floor, but as most found out that just makes him hit harder

Whenever these type of topics are discussed, it really highlights how delusional some fans are with regard to how much boxers actually earn. Some fans assume every boxer above British level is on Six figures
