The guys that allowed Briggs to fight in that condition should have had some sort of punishment. IIRC and I could be wrong it was a while ago, Johnny Lewis was going to train Briggs until he saw the state of Briggs and wanted no part.

Only gtood thing about that fight , was Briggs , accepting after being pestered to take it ,, Then going down and virtually saying Stuff you your not gonna kill me ,
