I did work it out and think it was something like 580,000 subscribers just to pay Canelo. Something like $70mill per year which equals $5.8mill per calendar month, at $10 per subscriber, that's the 580,000. Throw Eduardo's $1billion over 8 years and you need 1.5mill subscribers to break even on fighter purse cost of just Canelo and Matchroom. Add on top production, marketing etc (and other sport deals) and I wonder how or when they will hope to turn a profit

Different product, but same model is Netflix with 58million subscribers in the USA.

A fairer comparision is ESPN Plus which has somewhere between 1 and 1.5 million subscribers
And who’s to say people that are only interested in Canelo won’t just unsubscribe for the months where Canelo isn’t fighting and just subscribe the month he is fighting. That would be a loss.. but us humans can be lazy.. who can be bothered with that hassle..
The people who are subbing for Canelo will also want to see Munguia's fights too. So it could be 6 different month's to sub then unsub, I'd say its very likely most will just leave it to run all year round.
Yeh. Like I said. For us humans it can be a ball ache to mess around with it.

AT $9.99/month...it's boxing! It's not only the big names that make great fights. How many great surprises have we seen from seemingly 'uninteresting' undercard bouts.
Yeah, there's always gonna be a couple of good competitive fights on most cards. If I lived in the US I'd be all over this and ESPN's $5 a month deal, $15 isnt gonna break the bank.

maybe it's just me but I find it unprofessional - even gloating - when fighters tweet details of contract offers and even name the party they rejected.

there's a reversal for every situation, just about, and both parties, one never knows, could work together under different circumstances.

It is extremely unprofessional and serves no one

Eddie is always talking about the huge offers to fighters when it works in his favour!!!

Eddie does it all the time but when people call him out on his shenanigans he cries about professionalism LOL

eg Trying to shame Khan in to fighting Brook!!!! He said top rank offered 5mill and he was offering double (which I doubt there was ever a guarentee on double just predicted ppv/ticket sales)

Guarentees mean a lot more than projected numbers btw LOL

When Team Parker and Team Wilder started publically bagging his numbers he quickly made sure negotiations went private LOL.

In Parkers situation there was a stark contrast to prefight and post fight numbers lol.

eg According to Eddie before the fight Parker was making over 30% and AJ had made huge concessions

After the fight AJ made 20 mill apparently and according to Hearn Parker didn't make half of the supposed 10-12 mill LOL

This was obviously because Wilder suggested he should get much more than the 10-12 mill Parker got LOL
