Nope, that’s just one of those untrue things that people like to say, like ‘did you know Marilyn Manson was the best friend from The Wonder Years’.
What on earth does this mean? Anyone who watches Joe Joyce can see that his hand speed is as slow as pudding. If not, maybe link us a clip which shows his hands moving fast? Or even at average speed for a British level heavyweight?
There is definitely some kind of bizarre optical illusion at work with Joyce, his shape or something perhaps, I don't know what causes it.
BUT.
Watch his contests and don't look at him, look only at the opponent. They are moving at full speed and they are getting hit.
I get what you mean - a bit like when George Foreman knocked out Michael Moorer, it didn't seem to make sense.

So from assuring us he would break Mike Tyson's record and be the youngest heavyweight champion ever, to losing a wide decision to a 37 year old Bulgarian and now ducking a 7-fight novice.

It's not going well, is it?

And considering his age and the fact he had a terrific amateur career, I'm sure he's looking to make waves this year. I'll be curious as to his matchup(s) after the Stiverne fight. I figure another fight in 2/3 months against a 20-30 or higher rated HW.

He is slow, but he never stops punching, which is why I think when he steps up against a decent boxer, he'll get exposed. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

They lost a sh!t load of money on the Parker fight too. They thought they were buying the title with it being over here and with two of the usual suspects as a referee and judge.

So I'd imagine the investment in Hughie Fury would be in the red atm. Losing to Joyce would be the beginning of the end of that venture.

Hughie back in training now.
Would like to see this fight.. :TU:

Shame the British & CW titles aren't defended more. Both nice belts.
