He’s forgotten I feel, more people have Joe Joyce on the brain than Dubois right now, that’s not a good sign.
I think from the Cojanu fight onwards he should be in a fight every 40 days, he’s not really in need of a step up, just needs to fight more, against more guys like Kevin Johnson, maybe not that negative, but opponents that’ll help him learn.
For me he needs to open up more too, dunno if this is because of his coach, but he never seems to box tall/long.
His popularity needs a shot in the arm.
Dubois is 21 and very much a work in progress. He won't be knocking on the champions' doors for a few years yet.
Joyce is the wrong side of thirty. Time is not his friend. He is at his peak right now and needs to be making his move imminently. That is why people are more interested in Joyce at the moment than Dubois in the same way people are more interested in Jarrell Miller than say, Darmani Rock.
It's not a bad sign. It is just what I'd expect.
I don’t think that’s the same, Darmani isn’t on telly like Dubois. Dubois is considered Warren’s golden boy, he puts him near the top of his fight night cards.
cs: I expect Rock would be on UK TV if he were British.
Joe Joyce’s promoter doesn’t even have a TV deal, he’s being made relevant by his manager’s claims that he wants to fight Ortiz soon.
cs: I think Joyce is made relevant by the fact he's an Olympic Silver Medalist (robbed of gold) trying his luck in the pro game in a race against the clock.
There’s no expectation on Dubois to be facing top guys anytime soon.
cs: That's my point.
But this country loves prospects, hence Buatsi & Kelly’s hype.
cs: True enough but I don't suppose it's so very different anywhere else. I guess in the States you have to factor in the sheer size of the country which makes it more of a local thing to follow a fighter rather than a nationwide thing, plus of course boxing stateside is on life-support.

Who the F is Dubois ?
Oh you mean the guy that’s had 9 fights? Dipshiits. It wouldn’t be a week on here if one of you guys didn’t say some fighter without 10 pro fights is gonna be better than Ali. Idiots
Caldo, Caldo calm down and take your medication. It's ok, really it is ... he's not Russian
Seriously he's got a very long way to go to prove he'll amount to anything, but he's looking pretty good so far for a kid, and as GingerBomber says we Brits do love to hype our prospects.

Lolololol. I checked the nationality with my first move. I was ready to pounce on OogieBoogie even if he had nothing to do with it. Lol. I like that kid but don’t tell him that.

You’re lucky that I can barely read English. Your keyboard must look ridiculous. Lol

Which kid - Dubois or that callow youth, Oogiebe?
You know his allowance would quite stretch to that new keyboard he wanted. He had to settle for a Cyrillic alphabet one

While I'm flattered to be called a youth, alas...I haven't been one for quite a few decades.

Oogie, Lennox Lewis and Brooke Shields are my generation (1965). Are you older than Lennox, Brooke and me ?

I'm a couple of years older but not necessarily wiser.

I can remember (not so clearly, of course) Frazier-Ali 1.
What about your first top level match (you can remember) ?

Ali/Quarry and I remember it well. I saw some Liston fights but I was too young to have any clear memories. Also Emile Griffith I seem to remember.

Ali v Frazier 1 made a boxing fan of me. I'd have been 14 and Cooper v Bugner cemented my blossoming interest. Prior to March 71 I'd been the ultimate casual.
