I can't see Hearns losing this. Too tall; too long; too much power. Briscoe would be hard pressed to get inside. Maybe even early stoppage.

If the fight started like Hagler and Hearns did I can't see Briscoe bringing it with the same hand speed as Hagler. Also, could Briscoe eat the shots like Marvin? On the other hand, Hearns' chin was a liability and he could go at any time. Roldan was a little shorter than Briscoe and he had Hearns badly hurt so I dont think height would be as much as a factor as some might think in a slugfest. If Tommy stays outside, then yes, his height comes into play much more. A great match up, if I say so myself !

Briscoe had a very good chin. He was stopped only once in a very long career with many fights against very good competition. Once Hearns became a middleweight, his power was not as impressive. Not sure at all that Hearns would hurt him.

Thomas Hearns can hurt you at any weight class.

But hurting you and taking you out are 2 different animals.

Hearns could shake Briscoe but he wasn't likely to stop him.

Briscoe did have a tremendous chin. Valdes a pretty decent puncher was the only man to stop Briscoe. And Valdes had to settle for two other decisions over Briscoe.

Monzon twice and Hagler once had to go the distance with him.

Just don't see Hearns turning the KO trick. He would probably adopt a pure boxing strategy against Briscoe and use his physical advantages and superior speed to take a decision.

Hearns wouldn't want a brawl. That was the tough Briscoe's thing.

They didn't call him Bad Bennie for nothing.

You have the same thought as I am in terms of strategies for both Hearns and Briscoe. :TU:
