He could carry on at a decent level, I mean Eubank Jr headlines a PPV next month and he was schooled from Groves 2 fights ago but if Groves isn't feeling it then he's made the right choice, i wish him the best ive always been a fan , I remember him turning pro in the setanta days, he always been headstrong and I see him staying away like the likes of Lewis, Calzaghe and Froch

Always remember Groves making a great point after the first Froch fight about how Froch's reputation of being a warrior and Groves reputation of being chinny were factors in the stoppage, I think that's defo true in a lot of fights and subconscious decisions from refs in fights at crucial times

There was no coming back from shaking his head and quitting on the canvas. That was sad to see. His heart isnt there like it was for the other big fights in his career. Retirement is a smart choice.

I also think that the German (?) fella that was injured in their fight may have given George pause for thought, especially with him having a family of his own now, he’ll have few regrets having experienced pretty much all you can as a pro boxer and leaves with his health intact and a good bank balance, wise decision but I will miss him

He didn’t quit, that’s not in him, the bodyshot took it all out of him and couldn’t rise, he was shaking his head at his inability to get up

He quit plain as day. Was on his feet as soon as the fight was over. Shaking his head at the corner. If you're creased you don't shake your head to the corner, you cant move/breathe. He wanted out of the fight and didn't have the same heart as he had before. He 100% was a complete warrior in his prime.

I think history certainly won’t be kind to George as far as those fights go, especially the first one when he gave Carl a proper hiding and still lost. Even the second one was close apart from the end.

What a bitter wanker he is. Proves that GG is levels above froch when it comes to being a real gentleman. Froch never wanted a rematch with ward,i remember ward ironing out froch in atlanta,he gave froch a new nose but some knobs you just cant humble.
