Hearn is ruining Joshua's career. Offering peanuts to opponents. He's already been played by fury and wilder and Joshua looks like he's ducking fights. To anyone not on this British forum of course.
No one can/should blame AJ himself. Hearn is the beasty pig here. If the Wembley fight is pushed off, then AJ will only have two fights this year. How is that a better money play than three??
Yeah Joshua can do no wrong
Not my point. I don't necessarily like AJ, but he is not the negotiator here. I only can blame him for not stepping in and demanding one of these fights.
It no coinsidence that they have problems negotiating every fight. Meanwhile big fights like wilder fury get made in an instant. I'll take word and side of the people making the big risky 50:50 fights and taking risks rather than the guy who is at least 1/12 at the bookies every time he fights over matched opponents.
It's always the opponents fault of course. Joshua is basically seen as a ducker now. He's the one who needs a big fight to save his reputation.
You aren't wrong. Just that the poster posed the question about AJ going it without Hearn. You seem to blame the fighter and not the promoter, here. I'm sure it's partly both, and yes, it seems like every f'n fight has negotiating drama when Joshua is one of the participants. He should go it alone and make the fights he wants, which hopefully will be the ones the fans want as well. In his defense, Joshua has beaten three of the current top 10 fighters (Whyte, Breazeale, Povetkin). Two are negotiating tough right now with AJ (Miller/Whyte); Two are negotiating their rematch (Wilder/Fury); Ortiz is scheduled to fight already; Pulev is mandatory right now (if I'm not mistaken). AJ is in a bad position right now (I'm enjoying that), due to his own doing. I still think he will fight Miller and Hearn will put Whyte in a headliner fight at Wembley in April, waiting for Whyte to be named mandatory before AJ will rematch him, which is a smart move.
Joshua isn't in a good place. He's been slated by the other top heavies who just had a mega fight and showed that they are willing to take big risky fights. Hearn and Joshua don't realize how close they are to losing fans. People like Lewis are regularly speaking out. Hearn always gets booed and is generally disliked but now we see Joshua getting booed at the Whyte fight and then coming off as a bit of a pr*ck lecturing the fans in the arena "I don't want to hear criticism if I fight whyte etc". There's another brit in the mix here. The way it's going fury will be the fan favourite if they fight.

Why not. Joshua has had about 4 months already since his last fight to recover and start training for his next fight.
Whyte fought recently.

There's just over 2 months to the April date.
Why shouldn't the challenger ask for a reasonable time to recover from his last fight and train properly for his title shot?
You're just blinkered by the Hearn and Joshua show.

soon well hear that half a year is too soon

He hasn't had 3 months. He fought recently and was told he was 3rd choice because they wanted Wilder or Fury first. They haven't even agreed a deal yet and there's now about 9 or 10 weeks to go.
Open your eyes.

he had the offers and keeps turning them down, he had plenty of notice about the date everyone knows about and shouldnt be blaming a lack of time
demanding 4 months just is strange , camp simply isnt that long

I'm not going to discuss this with you any longer because it's just not getting through to you.
He wants longer to recover and prepare properly to give himself his best chance.
Do you not want to see a better prepared Whyte or are you only interested in Joshua winning?

It's pathetic and some people are starting to see through it but not all of the die hards are there yet.
Wilder and Fury was all about the fight, no one spoke about or even cared about the money. It was made with minimum fuss.
Then as soon as Hearn has a Joshua fight to make its all about other fighters being greedy so they can't make the fights. And it's the same every single time.
It's all bullshit.

I suppose so. It's still ridiculous though
How long is Whyte under contract? I know FW was trying to approach him so I assume it's up soon?

According to Hearn, Joshua runs the show and decides on the money that's offered.
I don't believe anything that Hearn says.

You'll get nowhere dealing in fact and reality on here. Particularly with all these with the inside track on negotiations of the biggest paydays in boxing.

I've got no issue with them fighting twice a year.
They even announce their dates almost a year in advance.
Which means they have absolutely no excuse whatsoever when it gets to 10 weeks before a fight and they haven't landed an opponent yet.

That's silly.
I don't think Joshua isn't ducking fights because I'm British.
AND it runs counter to your own logic. These fights aren't getting made because Hearn is "offering peanuts" - so how can AJ be ducking fights that aren't being made ?

jamamb wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019, 17:083 months is plenty
If he's injury-free and 2/3s fit, sure. But to use myself as an example (admittedly not the most relevant one), I'm currently over 2 mins per mile slower on runs than I was in the summer, following an injury from overtraining that forced me into very light work for a few months.
And the thing is, what was overtraining for me would've been laughably lazy for any pro. Once we get a bit older we can often still reach fantastic fitness levels, but it can't be guns-blazing any more. I'm pushing 40 and could probably get close to the times I was capable of in my 20s, but training would take twice as long without PEDs due to the increased recovery and my poor base. Right now I get DOMS if I run more than twice per week, so I'll be very carefully upping my mileage until about April, and only then will I have the base to push on for anything respectable.
Now this should be moot for Whyte because he's a pro athlete, but I do think he's overweight and needs several months to reach his best. He shouldn't be in this position (barring injury) in the first place, but since it appears he is, I'd have no problem with giving him 4 months to bring along the best version of himself. Miller doesn't look like he'll ever put in enough work, though, so I think he'd be fine for Wembley.

Whyte should be in training already surely? A hungry challenger should be ready to go at anytime more or less and especially so when he’s clearly an option for the champions next fight.
Problem Whyte has got is he is a challenger but he talks like a champion. He’s a millionaire, hes getting offered millions apparently to fight Joshua, I suspect he’ll earn much more in his career after Joshua too, especially if he was to somehow win!
The chat is the offer is over £4m. Since when has £4m been an insulting offer to fight for the world heavyweight title! Fvcking ridiculous imo.
I don’t care who earns what but stop talking like a bad man challenger when you’re moaning like a spoilt woman despite being offered a pretty big amount of dough for a world title shot. Surely it’s about the glory now he’s set for life financially?
