My guess is that the interim title is to stop a Fast Fres situation going on after probably promising a title shot to Breazeale in one way or another.

Sure, however; it was the WBC who gave its blessing to Wilder to forgo a mandatory with Breazeale for a rematch with Fury. I really can't stand the politics and greed of the sport. I think that the tag, "interim" is just wrong in its implications.

Well it puts the cat amongst the pigeons for AJ. He looks to have Miller nailed down, then what? Whyte was the next fight so this will remove him from that equation and leave AJ without a credible dance partner for his second fight of 2019.

Suprise ,suprise , all comes has Whyte refuses the AJ fight , Demands Eddie looks after him , wants another ppv show , Has to really go in with Polevtkin , Ortiz or Breazeale , Guess which is the easier fight , but the fight Breazeale would of been silly to take and risk his mandatory shot , Now Whyte gets the chance to be official number one and mandatory , , Eddie gets his ppv , everyones a winner baby .

The silver was introduced as a step on the ladder to their World Championship.
The first one was contested between Cyril Thomas and Justin Savi - no superfight.
WBC don’t have some of the ‘standard’ internationally available belts that others do (Intercontinental etc) so presumably it serves the purpose of allowing more Championship contests.

Think it would more be Eddie , gets his ppv , Fury - Wilder winner , ordered to fight, Whyte or Breazeale ,for an easy defence , frees AJ up till 2020 , if he wants to he fights Ortiz or Poletvkin late in the year ,

On the other hand if , Whyte signs with Haymon , you could be right , it leaves AJ with Ortiz and Poletvkin and thats it ,, It really does show the corruption and manipulation of these organizations

I did not mean to infer say that 4 had been removed by a possible sky ppv between Whyte and Breazeale.

What I said, or meant to suggest was that I wondered if Haymon has worked to remove 4 possible opponents, but that was not to suggest it was all via this one move.

He also has Wilder and Fury tied up in a rematch and potential trilogy, thus removing those two dance partners too.

This is the only real logical move by the WBC. With Wilder tied up for the next 6-12 months, they cannot just let a mandatory challenger sit there fermenting, especially considering the strides Whyte has made over the last 18 months.

Sure, Breazeale will be pissed (although the payday will soften the blow), as this is a high risk fight to potentially (and quite likely) lose his mandatory position.

I'm super pleased this fight has been made as it returns some credibility back to the sport/division.

Dillian Whyte is a very dangerous fight for anyone not called Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury.
He would have a decent chance of beating Wilder.

At least one of these former title challengers will be taken out of the mix, so one less retread.
