I remember Danny being convinced there was something wrong with the scales for his fight vs Gammer. While he used to joke about his dedication. He did have one of the best "fitness" trainers in his corner in Jim McDonnell, but he was never the same really since the Sam fight and seem to have this geniune belief that as a fatty he could absorb punches better.
Looking back at Danny's career, he had so much talent - but Mentally he was never right following the Sam fight and Physically, I honestly think Tyson did some damage. It was the first time he really seem to do this funny balance dance thing (1st round) and then in his next fight - he was up and down like a Yo Yo vs Klitchsko.
I dunno if there was something wrong with the scales but he was in great shape, fought great too.
Dunno why but he was never in good shape again.

Just seen the start of an IFL video with DeGale looking significantly leaner than he has in the past.

His weight loss in 4 months between the Harrison debacle and Gammer was almost Fury esque. It is definately an outlier, something did not add up.... but he was definately leaner, 40 lbs leaner I aint so sure.

Pulev looked a lot better physically for the Hughie fight than in a lot of his previous fights. I wonder how the 37(?) year old managed that having been out of the ring for 18 months.

His camp turned down a lot of money to take on Harrison, they took Williams for a third of it, but they thought Williams was easy work in comparison, and the Harrison fight would still have been there.
They had the shock of their life when Wiliams got on the scales.

I remember his post fight interview when being asked about his conditioning (weight loss) he claimed he trained himself for the fight.
Somebody gave him a program to follow.

He was trimmer, I would say he looked 7-10lbs trimmer vs Gammer, 40 lbs though - no I cannot see that.... but Danny never looked like Baby Miller even when at his fatests.
It was always a huge gamble for Paul Boyce and team Gammer - Danny was always a different league and really was always a better boxer than Harrison, just didn't have the punch resistance at that stage - but Gammer wasn't a huge puncher. It was nice they had the confidence and its nice Gammer can tell his kids he was a British champion.
Tyson was another one whose weight fluctuated like Bejesus towards the end of his career - if there was ever an advert for not doing roid or too many weights it was Tyson. Tyson only had 1 defeat sub 220 lbs. Looked in great shape, but always had much more muscle when over 220 - let alone over 230.

Mark Krence was another who went from Heavy to Cruiser with pretty poor consequences.
