Re: How Many Fans Feel That Floyd & Canelo Can’t Lose in Vegas Unless Knocked Out?

Man, I wish I could do business with some of you people. How naive can you be? Where do you guys live? Mayberry? Where everyone’s a great person and no one breaks the law. It’s all about Aunt B’s apple pie.Deleted_Scenes wrote: ↑09 Feb 2019, 15:36I agree with this. It's not so much a case of brown envelopes changing hands, as judges knowing that it's the lead promoter covering the bill for their first class travel/top hotel rooms, and everything else that goes along with it. Boxing judges are not well paid, so once they receive one meal in a nice restaurant, free of charge, they naturally tend to want a second and a third etc. I do believe they're wary of pissing off the person who's paying the bill.oogiebe wrote: ↑09 Feb 2019, 11:02I hear you, but let's remember that boxing is not regulated by any independent organization. While I don't think judges are bought and paid for, they are still fallible human beings who in their minds have favorites as well as expectations going into a bout.SenorPipino wrote: ↑09 Feb 2019, 10:59 No I don't think anything is strange.
Fans always dissect the popular fighters, searching high and low for anything to tarnish their reputations.
Except maybe that people believe this nonsense year after year, fight after fight
But conspiracy theorists always abound.
I gave examples of cash cows who met their Waterloo in Las Vegas when many opined that it would never happen there.
But they finally shut up when Ali, Pacquiao and De La Hoya were finally unseated by those supposedly "friendly" Las Vegas judges and commissions.
In this era the same innuendo is tossed routinely at Mayweather and Canelo (and by extension GBP).
None of these judges and promoters are going to risk their livelihood and freedom to protect certain fighters on a constant basis.
The same conspiracy garbage had been slung for decades about many "protected" high profile fighters.
Where's any evidence after all these years? How come no one has ever uncovered any definitive corrupt practices on such a high scale level?
Probably because it doesn't exist. It's just in the minds of imaginative, oft times disgruntled boxing fans.
And best yet, why didn't Oscar bribe 2 judges in Golovkin-Canelo 1 instead of just Adelaide Byrd?
Seems like a waste of money for a savvy guy like ODLH not to secure 2 votes if you're going to buy decisions.
Just more Twilight Zone theories that always fall short when examined closely.
Do you realize how much these judges get paid? Garbage. Do you know how easy it would be for Floyd to peal off 100-200k off his stack to ensure a win? That’s more than judges make in 4 years for most of them. So if Moretti does 1 Floyd fight per year, makes $5k in legitimate taxable income for doing the fight but also has $100k tax free from Floyd to tip the tables in his favor, you think that Moretti would say “no, I’m gonna opt for 5k and be lawful”? Even if they get caught which is almost impossible unless they yap about it like idiots, they made more in one night to account for years of judging.
If Floyd’s making 20 million for a fight, don’t you think he’d pay $200k to walk into the ring with an advantage? I’d really like to know if Floyd has demanded Moretti. Floyd picked the ref in the second Maidana fight so I’m sure he had the juice to be able to dictate st least one of the judges too. Naive man. Naive.
