Without a title this is true but getting this title can open doors to Canelo, GGG etc which will sell out the York Hall!
AJ can generate big bucks whoever he fights, BJS needs big opponents, opponents who he won't get unless he has a title.
FW has done an amazing job getting him this opportunity.

Team BJS deserve a medal and pay rise.

How have they pulled this off.

It’s like a restaraunt with a 2 star hygiene rating being given a Michelin star.
Yes the foods nice maybe even World class but with recent problems no-one is going out their way to eat there.

I'm sure I read recently the WBO said they would make Usyk mandatory for Joshua if he officially moved up too?

So Warren has done a good job? Or it's luck?
Or the title isn't worth anything anyway?

they have a decades long close relationship and bjs was already wbo champ with an organization that privleges its champs when they move up, its not some great stroke or genius business move itself, im not sure what warren even wouldve done here thats so amazing

Ramirez has just come out and said he has not vacated his belt.. looks like WBO and Arum and screwed him over the deal with FW.. or tried too.

"I have not vacated the title, I will fight at 175 pounds to see how I feel, I spoke to Paquito (Valcárcel), I told him I have an optional fight and he gave me his support," Ramirez told ESTO.

"We still do not have a confirmed date for this preparation fight at 175 pounds, but it could take place in April. If a unification with Smith or another champion comes up we will take it and then we would settle in half-full, I would move up after unifying my title, I hope it can happen in the coming months."

I'm not a massive fan of the WBO but you've gotta love their trolling of Saunders

If Saunders really is serious about becoming world champ again then surely the Andrade fight can be made

warren announces things premature all the time doesnt he, says there was no issue with the test situation vs andrade, said multiple times the wrong dates for press stuff for wilder-fury , now announced this as wbo title and 'big' fight

Rumours online that Hearn has offered Saunders a $15m deal.

perhaps warren was going to sue the WBO with reference to the BJS debacle from last year.....

and this title shot is the pacifier to keep the letter off the door mat!!

Yes he did say that. BJS also said if this fight is not for WBO title then he ain’t fighting.

I bet they create an interim title for him to fight for. FW loves a WBO interim.

Is there anybody else on the board that actually likes BJS other than Oiky, who gamely stands up for him no matter what bollocks he comes out with or how many fights he pulls out of and how many total stiffs he fights?

Meaningless fight. Saunders is a pudendum. I won't even watch the highlights on Youtube let alone stream it.

i find it impossible to like him, total anti social dickhead and for the most part boring to watch, and as good as he is, and he is world class, i think hes started to get overrated since lemieux, that was the most flattering style for him. the fight before he won like 8-4 / 7-4-1 vs willy monroe. remember lem couldnt put a glove on hittable ggg either , pretty much every other ggg opponent in last few years landed better. look how ggg was a masterful unhittable boxing master vs lem yet then looking limited vs jacobs
