This sucks. I'm sure fury got a nice bag of cash. It sure is hard for wilder to get big fights. Two in a row was probably the best we could hope for.

You think he should sign with Arum moving foward?

No, he should stay free and pray for an aj fight. If he gets and wins that he can fight fury without signing with arum. Legacy is important to deontay.

I hope your right about the legacy thing, because that is one reason I'm a Wilder fan over the other top HW's.

I've been a huge Joshua fan since long before he got the belt. I started cheering for wilder because of the retards like slim on here. Now I like him for his huge heart and desire to face the best. I'd still cheer for aj I think.

Last week we had a topic on all of these supposed guaranteed heavyweight fights.
I said then if be happy if 10% happened.
I stick to this comment also.
The only guarantee in boxing is what we want to see seldom happens

I was actually thinking how can Hearn get a win from all this? Somehow ditch Miller for Wilder? Too late now.

Just being unrealistically optimistic what if, Wilder fights whyte, Breazeal Fights parker, and fury fights ortiz. I can live with that.

Wilder and Fury to fight AJ's left overs this summer then?

Also, this probably explains why Breazeale has seemed reluctant to take the Whyte final eliminator. He was probably advised that the Fury rematch wasn't happening and that he could walk straight into the Wilder fight.

ya , unfortunately the vast majority of the fights ppl list in the 'want to see threads' never happen, or not at the right time. pretty much never wise to act like somethings on till we see it!

That would have been more accurate. Nothing's off when it was never on to begin with. Especially true in boxing.

Bob Arum/Eddy Hearn and throw in Oscar De La Hoya are the 3 biggest mutts in Boxing they f.ck the game for their bank balance could you imagine Ali and Frazier letting Don King pull this stunt they make Don look like a boxing saviour  marinate

Boxing Scene: Top Rank CEO's Bob Arum, believes that a rematch will be even bigger if both boxers do interim fights.

β€œWe envision this [rematch] can reach 1 to 2 million homes. The only way to do that is to allow the general sports fan to really get to know these guys,” Arum said to the Los Angeles Times.

β€œIf that takes each of them fighting another opponent first, then rolling them into a September fight, the money on the table then would be more than they can conceive of … that’s the way I look at it.”

Wilder is now expected to take on Dominic Breazeale, who is the next mandatory WBC challenger. Breazeale was ordered to face Dillian Whyte in a final eliminator for the WBC interim-title, but now can bypass Whyte for a direct crack at Wilder.

Anthony Joshua, who holds the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight belts, will take on Jarrell Miller in June in New York.

Looks like those who stated that Arum wants this to "brew" a bit were spot on. I'd actually look forward to a Breazeale/Wilder match and now I'm hearing even more about Fury/Parker. Not a bad swap for a Wilder/Fury rematch.

I don't believe a fight will happen until they're in the ring.
And even then I'm sceptical

I don't really understand the excitement around Fury v Parker. Parker has demonstrated that he is nothing more than a B level fighter, and whenever he steps up he gets beat fairly comfortably.

Whyte really would be the much better fight.

I don't believe this for one second. Wilder is 33 and 41 fights in. There has been zero evidence that Wilder has being trying to secure any legacy at all so far.

This really saddens me. Fury and Wilder are the best fights available to one another right now.

Furthermore, this really puts the most deserving challenger back into obscurity, Dillian Whyte.

I would just about tolerate Wilder v Breazeale and Fury v Whyte, but that for me is a step down from the re-match.
