Lartey only has one loss to Mergin who went 12-0 before vanishing at 24.
I have no idea what became of him. Does anyone?

Anyone know how old Lartey is??? I don't see how this matchup helps Dubois, unless he's going to work on left hand only or something! LOL!

I can only hope that he is doing his learning in the gym, rumoured to have dropped AJ.
But it's true it's frustrating when they aren't moved up, is it because FW doesn't have confidence in him?
FW is notorious for cautious match matching and has great relations the the WBO

i think his opposition over the last 3 have been okay, i think its more about keeping him active. that unfortunetly seems to be coming at the expense of opposition if lartey is next. but i think with prospects its fine to have these knockovers as long as the fighter is active and its between opponents who do make sense for development

We'll see how fast he's matched up after Lartey. I can't say he's not been active as he was scheduled to go in December (?) and he got the flu. I like him. I hope he shows improvement. He has the size and power, that's for sure.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Dubois’s level of opposition. He’s a 21 year old heavyweight: at least five years if not ten years away from his physical prime with limited amateur experience.

His last three opponents have been Little (area level), former world title challenger and now very tough journeyman Johnson and Cojanu who went 12 with Parker & Gorman, other only recent defeat being Luis Ortiz. I’d say that’s pretty good going! I’d like to see him more busy & aim for British honours soon.

I remember AJ throwing some novice looking punches early in his career and Fury going life and death with McDermott. Look at them both now. Give Dubois time.

You're not wrong, but...Dubois is saying he's only a step below the big boys, so he himself is setting the bar higher than where he's at. I've often posted that the kid is only 21 and has time, but he needs to show improvement and successfully stepping up in levels is what's expected. He started his pro career at a young age, but it doesn't mean he gets a buy for the first five years. He was impressive in his last fight. Fighting Lartey is not what I would have expected following that. Seems a step back.

Fair point about Dubois comparing himself with the big boys . But I feel that’s just to build his hype and brand. Plus FW Is notorious for playing it cautious with his prospects and to be fair often gets it right. Hatton vs Tszyu springs to mind.

I'll be really interested to see how Lerrone Richards does. I think he is proper good but Langford is a big step up compared to who he has fought before.

People are being a bit harsh on Dubois imo. Only 21 and only had 10 fights. Let's see what he looks like in 18 months or so.

He is just a babe, yes. But he hasn't looked like he's progressing skill and movement wise, despite his bashing out opponents. Not sure if this is just who he will be. He's a big and powerful guy though.

I don’t have any issue with Dubois’ progression so far or his opponents really. I think he needs to fight some guys who should give him rounds (I was expexting Cojanu to last longer and Kevin Johnson) and also some guys who have decent records on paper but in reality will give Dubois some impressive KOs to build the hype.

What I don’t like though is that he’s headlining an arena show in his 11th fight against someone like this who in all likelihood will be badly KO’d in rounds 1 or 2.

Not even AJ was headlining arena shows that quickly!

Dubois should have remained amateur and been exposed to more styles and got more grounding away from the public eye.
