Farmer almost has him out of there in rd 11 and tries this amazing tactic of stepping off him and losing the last round. Ffs.

Gervonta Davis should take the payday and Farmers belt.

Farmer stinks. Faux flashy skills. Anyone can look flashy when theres about 2% power behind the shot. One of the worst punchers masquerading at world level.

Nobody ever said he was a puncher. He's a good boxer. The Lightweight division is fairly weak at the moment, and he's not one of the great Champs of the division by any means. Just kinda a guy that picks up an alphabet belt, and likely will be forgotten over time in all likelihood. He made a title defense though through favorable matchmaking so there's been guys with more mediocre title reigns than his already, I'll give him that.

Ray Leonard comparing him to Whitaker was disgusting. I wonder how ray would like being compared to broner.

Good fight, better than I thought it might be although it wasn't always pretty, I had it a couple rounds closer at 115-113 for Farmer, I thought he potshotted a lot and Smith and Macklin were a bit too praiseworthy in Farmer's work, sure he did pick some nice counters and there was no doubt he had the quality in there but his best asset again tonight was making Carroll miss with the amount of punches he was throwing

Carroll was relentless in coming forward, getting up close and battering away to the body, he was missing with a lot but there was still some getting through and it kept Farmer from getting into a rhythm for the long spells, Carroll showed his fighting heart after getting hurt from the right hook in the 11th and gave it a right go in the last round

Carroll gave it his best and although Farmer deserved his win I thought the cards were slightly harsh, sure the accuracy was with Farmer but as far as punches landed I don't think it was that wide

Good card actually I enjoyed it

Yeah - it was a good card.

I’d like to see Carroll come back against Stephen Smith who has been disappointingly inactive. I think it would be a really good fight.

Jono would loss to the top 5 ranked British fighter never mind fighting at World Level. Yes he gave a good account of himself but against one of the weakest champions for a long time at Super Feather.. Jono has great work rate but no power in his shots against the top lads they would take him out.. I think Jono should fight Tennyson next. I think Bowen, Ward and Barrett Should be trying to get a shot at Farmer best chance they will get at becoming World champ. With Cancio being the WBA regular champion the division is wide open

Carroll threw well over 1200 punches, cant remember exact amount but it was 3rd highest all time in a Super Lightweight title fight

Agreed, it surprised me. Enjoyable card. Fair play to Carroll, left it all in the ring despite being below world level and never stopped trying to come forward - plenty of volume but no real snap in his work, Farmer landed the more damaging shots & looked comfortable throughout but as above I do think Farmer got too much credit for his performance.
