I'd love to understand the high level reasoning of the WBO.

The whole ranking system is contaminated with greed and corruption. The worst offenders are the WBC, no surprise there, who can't find a way to rank Anthony Joshua at all.

No other sport behaves like this. It's rubbish for the fans but the best thing for any aspiring boxer is to study these charts carefully and negotiate the safest way towards the biggest purses.

Seems to me that that WBC has the least egregious rankings. None of the bodies rank another bodies champ.

He's developing a reputation for pulling out of fights. He's lined up to fight Daniel Dubois next and it'll be interesting to see if Dubois is left looking for a last minute substitute too.

The alphabet groups do not rate the others champs. It's been that way since there's been different organiza tions.

I think the WBO Africa belt can quite often get the holder a ranking.

WBO always ranks their belt holders. They are the worst of the orgs.

Does anyone else get the feeling that in a sense the ABC bodies kind of have their own scouting system and place hopes on some more unrecognised fighters, rank them highly, knowing that the other alphabets ideally want to rank totally diffrerent fighters?

They take a punt on these guys, for example Ali Eren Demirezen in that list, hoping that by some chance, he suddenly makes a splash in the division, and it was they who ranked him first and will afford him a shot at their world title before the others do?

You see several recognised names dotted around most if not all the 4 main bodies top 10-15, but the rest are really seemingly plucked from thin air. That's the only logical reason I can come up with though.

Maybe you're right. Like picking potential growth stocks with no history of sales. But some of these picks are unexplainable. I'm a bit more cynical and think its more like the pay the coach/college rep scandal in the US. Grease lightening, if you will.
