got a 2nd hand machine for £29.99 on ebay recently.

it didn't even have an hdmi slot for it.

had to use a scart cable.

watched some herol graham fights (kalule, chris johnson).

might rewatch some larry holmes fights later (witherspoon/mercer)

I had a couple hundred VHS tapes which I've condensed into about 145 or so DVD's.

I didn't bother to convert all of the fights I had recorded because some of 'em sucked, and were nothing I'd care to see again. Hell come to think of it most of 'em as is are stuff that I'm rarely gonna bother to dig out, but as a fight fan it almost feels like your duty to have some great classic fights on the ready should it ever come up

For the most part though I'm sure Youtube would have a lot of us covered these days. It is nice to have some cards in their entirety though, and remember the way it felt when it went down. For the better part of 10 years there I recorded almost all Boxing broadcasts off of Television, slowed down on it this decade, and over the last couple of years I never bother anymore.

Fights are always more special when they're Live for me anyway honestly. There's still the tension, and the uncertainty of "anything can happen", really only the absolute classics or most dramatic moments stand up to the test of time.

I collected boxing dvd back in the day downloading them mostly from the boxing torrent sites (ended up selling them not for much) God knows how boxing monthly got away with people advertising selling dvds/vhs back in the day.
