It wasn't much of a punch that did the damage either. Makes you wonder how he's got through 24 fights without being KO'd. Surely he'll have been tagged at some point. I mean, is it really possible to fight that many times without taking a single shot?

I have seen most of his european fights, and his has dominated them, and the few shots he did take he took without problems. Could be that it was a mental problem tonight.

He could've trained for 15 weeks, it wouldn't have made any difference. He clearly can't hold a punch, and you realise why his camp have kept him away from any decent fighters till his payday world title shot.
Shame for Harrison, he deserves a better showcase than this. The Chi talk was obviously Maloney bull;@#*!!$$$$$$$
Smith pointed out the Chi camp weren't interested, and Maloney was suddenly talking about Brodie again. At least it'd be a guaranteed war, while it lasts.

Since his former promotion/management company that he was contracted to closed earlier this year he has not sparred a single round against a pro boxer and its not like he sparred with alot of them before, probably only Paolo Roberto. Its "funny" that he lost so early since he is extremely fit. He runs to the gym every day (more than 10 kilometers each way)
He was also waiting around in the ring for over 15 minutes before the fight started.
No excuses though he was well out of his depth, Scott had gone away and trained hard for this fight and Kedebe was giving away too much height, weight and desire.

Ok maybe the poor guy just froze. He was muttering to himself before the bell about New World Champ etc, but there was a look of panic in his eyes.
I liked Darke's comment: Harrison has the look of a Victorian Gravedigger.
Defintely NOT someone you'd want to mess with

kebede was actually one of the MSE fighters that got "toughtest" fights. There were talks about a fight vs Harrison earlier in their career.

The only way to cause Harrison problems is to outbox him unless your a really top opponent. That guy was far shorter and had a very small reach, their was just no way he was going to win. This is Harrisons teams fault, they picked the opponent, the WBO didn't come to Scott and demand that they fight this guy or he gets stripped. His fault. They owe the fans BIGTIME for this. The Scottish fans where quite conservative imo, they should have went berserk to really get their point home.
Sky have got to put their foot down, this cannot continue, this was an utter embarresment, again. They are being played. Franks laughing all the way to the bank following on from Hattons last, er 37 soon to be 38 fights. This is exactly whats killing boxing. It almost makes you want to quit boxing altogether when you see something like what happened tonight.

It was an absolute disgrace. A total farce. Can you imagine if you had paid to see that shite? Actually, I only have Sky for the sport, so I actually have paid for it.
GARBAGE.
And I've said so:

From BBC sport, quoting Scott H: "What would you rather me have, a 12-round war or a one-round stoppage?"

Well what a farce! The guy had no punch resistance whatsoever, the punches that put him down didn't seem to land with full force and were near the back of the head. Scott was beating better fighters years ago.
What
really annoyed me was a couple of Maloneys comments, the first being when refering to Kebede "Well he was unbeaten and that's the most important thing".
NO NO NO Frank that is not the most important thing at all. The most important thing is putting your fighters in competative and learning fights that also entertain and give value for money for the paying fans and raise your fighters profile on the World scene. This is very basic stuff.
The other comment at ringside after the fight when Maloney said something like "Those punches that Scott landed would have knockedout any Featherweight"

Once again
NO NO NO come on! Do you really expect us to believe those punches would have KO'd Chi, Pacman and Morales etc. That's just silly and insulting to Boxing fans.
I'm a big Scott Harrison fan but last night was dire, and I applaud the Scottish fans for jeering and booing the result.

Mate, I have been thinking of something like this for a long time now. Direct Action is the only way to
really make an impact when you have a company who is, in essence, tricking you. I had the sense to boycott last night's despicable farce, which left British boxing bruised even more. Had I been there at ringside I can assure you some form of projectile would have been thrown in the ring at the time of the stoppage. It's amazing how easy it is to get a crowd to kick off, and if I ever have the misfortune of attending one of these farces in the future you can be sure I'll be doing my upmost to contribute to a riot, should one start. Hopefully some really ugly scenes on TV would go some way to lancing off a company that is like a cancer on British boxing.

I understand you fustration, but a riot will just make things worse and innocent people will get hurt, the best direct action is to not buy the tickets IMO.

"The first time he caught me on the head but the second time he pushed me down. I was okay and so I don't know why I was stopped."

I know it turned out to be a farce, but how many of us called it a complete mismatch before last night, looking back over some of the old threads no one did.
We all thought Harrison would win, but not in this way. I thought it would go to the 7th.
There is no way of telling how bad a punch resistence a guy has before a match if he's unbeaten. If he'd been chinned in a couple of rounds before, then we would have known.
The one good thing that might come out of these recent poor matches, is that Warren might be getting stung in the pocket, bad shows like this mean bad publicity, so the next time they try to pass off a poor quality show people won't buy the tickets. Forcing Warren into making competitve matches.
Well we can all hope eh!!

Topper, everyone I spoke to about the fight knew it was going to be a mismatch. The bookies knew it was a mismatch and Frank Maloney knew it was a mismatch. Why else would he try is best to convince everyone it wasn't a mismatch?
Maloney wary of outsider
FRANK MALONEY insists fight fans should disregard the fact that WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison is an overwhelming favourite to retain his belt against challenger Samuel Kebede at Braehead tonight.
Despite the Swedish-based Ethiopian being unbeaten, some bookmakers are making the Cambuslang fighter as little as 1/14 on to defend his title for what will be a record fifth time.
But Harrison’s manager claims outsiders have triumphed in the past and urged the Scotsman’s supporters not to get too complacent.
He said: "I can’t persuade people that this is not a mismatch but I can tell them that every fight is a dangerous fight and it is, I don’t care what the bookies say.
"I’ve seen 1/14 chances getting beat before. I saw Oliver McCall knock out Lennox Lewis when you couldn’t get money on Lewis, so bookmakers sometimes get it wrong.
"They got Kevin Lear wrong against Michael Gomez and they got Wayne Alcock very wrong against Laurence Murphy.
"So I don’t pay any attention to what bookmakers do. I think that when you’ve got an undefeated fighter then he’s got nothing to lose. Kebede can go out there and throw everything at Scott Harrison."
Maloney has been impressed by the African’s composure in the build up and admitted the challenger has certainly shown he is not afraid of Harrison.
However, Maloney is confident that ultimately, Harrison will beat Jim Watt’s record of world title defences.
He said: "When you fight someone who is not in your class, if you’re a real good champion then you go out there and destroy him. And that’s what Scott has got to do, he’s got to be explosive."
I ditched Sky years ago, I'm surprised so many of you people still have it.

Scott almost beat the Herbie Hide record of a 52 second KO of Damon Reed in a WBO Championship.
That fight was also promoted by Sports Network.

Maloney is a pratt, an out and out bullshitter....99% of stuff that comes out of his mouth is rubbish or spin. Im really glad SKY questioned this mismatch and even when he tried to be defensive the pensive look on his face showed that Maloney was concerned by this fight. Even Dempsey questioned whether Maloney's words were worth anything until a match is set in stone....well no they are not.
"Any Featherweight would have gone down from those punches" who the fornicate is he trying to kid?! There were no decent punches, a couple of clips to the back of the head and Kebede folded faster than Superman on laundry day. The sad truth is these mismatches are the order of the day now. I will not believe Harrison V Chi, Barrera, Morales, Marquez etc will happen until we are sitting around listening to that bloke in the kilt whaling away before the introductions.
As for the undercard i enjoyed Watson-Winters, i felt that a younger fitter Winters would have won because his Boxing and defensive work was good, he just had not got the legs to go along with the strategy. But what the heck is the Celtic title? Do we really need this meaningless shite added to the already huge list of belts

Does the WBO really need to be blamed. ts not like they ranked him number 1 and it wasnt a mandatory fight so maloney could of found someone else to box harrison at a higher level. i am sure the WBO would of made the fight even if the opponent wasnt in there rankings. the opponent probably was the cheapest.
