Meldonium was legal then it wasn’t and long after the fight was cancelled it was admitted that they couldn’t be sure the tiny tiny amount of the stuff in Povetkin’s blood wasn’t left over from when it wasn’t against the rules to use it.

Povetkin then failed a drug test for Ostarine in the run up to the aborted final eliminator with Stiverne. I have to admit, I‘m no expert but that is harder to rationalize away.

Stiverne also failed a drug test but he got given a mandatory shot at Wilder instead of having to fight Povetkin or a replacement to earn it. Some punishment, eh?

I guess Sulaiman is more scared of ‘Mafia Don’ than Ryabinsky.
The real victim in that was wilder.

He's ready for Wlad now though :D
Wilder never signed to fight him, pulled out for injury and refused to reschedule.

I go away for a few weeks and what would coming back be without an all important Povetkin post. Lol. It’s uncanny. You fools need a beating and I’m just the fella. But, I’m pretty busy so I’ll fight only the really weak Povetkin fans to start.

Povetkin weighs and looks the same as when he first started nor is he overly cut up and muscular. Compare that with the US and UK champs.
There's a lot more to performance enhancing drugs than just muscle growth.

Absolutely. Lance Armstrong wasn't built like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I had that down as a 50/50 fight at the time but seeing how the old fellah out-boxed Joshua until the old legs let him down makes me think a prime Povetkin would have had no problem boxing rings around Wilder. Plus the referee and officials would have been neutral at best if not pro-Povetkin.

Your theory about how the cancellation of the fight hurt Wilder is based purely on the supposition he'd have lost out on his biggest payday to that point. Even if I did he still had his title didn't he, and he could continue to defend it and make money instead of leaving it behind in Russia.

In any event had it gone according to the the script, Povetkin would have been successfully sued and Wilder would have got his US$4m without having to fight him. Unfortunately for Wilder, Povetkin was having none of it, and now that the grounds for cancelling the fight have been shown to be misguided not to say fallacious, it seems he's not getting paid for sitting it out in Sheffield after all.

Wilder was approached with a proposal to fight Charles Martin in a unification fight. His reply was basically "Wish I could but I'm tied up with my mandatory obligation". There was no attempt to reschedule when the Povetlin fight was canned. The fact is Povetkin did face Klitschko in a unification.

What have these boxers got in common: Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, Aleksandr Povetkin, Ruslan Chagaev, Tyson Fury, Charles Martin, Joe Parker, Anthony Joshua? That's right. They were all fellow champions whom Wilder could have fought for the unified title but didn't.

You Sir are very guilty of double-standards.
