Aside from Breazeale’s size, what advantage’s does he have over Wilder?
Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
if wilder obliges and gets into a slop fest i can defo see him being caught and hurt, but he has too much of pretty much everything to lose this
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilder get hurt sometime in this fight, nor would I be surprised if Wilder ends this in dominating fashion with never getting touched.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
pretty much everyone touches him, ill bet breazeale has some moments but is always clearly behind and then gets kod
'fun while it lasted'

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
I think we'll see that devastating jab from Wilder like we did in Stiverne II and he'll get to Breazeale rather quickly.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
could be, but that 6 foot plodding blob flatters that jab imo (ray austin also jabbed his head off), its usually not been much of a factor for wilder
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
I think there is a decent argument that Brezeale has a better chin. Could be unfair as Wilder hasn’t been stopped but I don’t like the way he reacts to solid shots. Brezeale has taken some serious clouts in his fights and kept going - the downside for him is that he’s painfully easy to find!
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
Fair point, but Dom's been down several times and Wilder hasn't (except the one time that was not called a kd that I haven't seen). If that was Dom in with Ortiz would he have gone down? Or weathered the storm like Wilder did? I'm not sure.fizzjambo wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 16:30 I think there is a decent argument that Brezeale has a better chin. it was called a kd im pretty sure, wilders chin turned out to be a lot better then i thought, i was sure when he was coming up he was gonna be a glass boi
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
ive never seen it, but from the accounts ive heard it was pretty heavy kd
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
Amateur or pro, makes no difference - still the same human being with the same ability to either take a shot or not
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
General boxing ability - Breazeale is poor, but Wilder is just so raw and novicy. People are calling this a great era for the Heavyweights - NO.... Wilder wouldn't be near a top 10 in most era's and its testament to how shit the division is that he is not just a top 10 but a world champion.
If Szpilka and Washington could look quite competitive against Wilder, it shows his level. Not beyond the realms of impossibility that Breazeale could cause an upset - although he's pretty shite too.
I remember the terrible era of the mid 90s - pre Tyson's return to the Championship and Politics holding Bowe / Lewis back a bit.... but in all seriousness a prime Oliver McCall would have beaten Wilder no doubt. Crickey I'd give Francios Botha a shout and if Moorer would have been careful with his chin, he'd have shut out Wilder.
Wilder's best two opponents include an ancient Ortiz (who lets be honest was looking terrible in his fights before) and a rusty Fury (who himself is hardly Mr proven - with 1 world class win against a strange version of Klitchsko) - lets not forget people were writing off Fury as "shot" after his 2nd comeback fight. Now Fury is "back" as the 2nd coming of Ali again, or is it that Wilder is just a raw puncher with terrible skills and can get outboxed (at stages) by the likes of Szpilka and Washington.
Andy bloody Ruiz is considered the 2nd best clean Heavyweight in America, and I would agree with this - that just shows how shite the Heavyweight division is....... people are actually craving Wlad to return, pushing his mid 40s he'd be automatically installed as #5 in the Heavyweight division the moment he announces a return.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
ESPN had an anonymous trainer assess Wilder -- then let Wilder respond.
TRAINER: Deontay Wilder is the rare fighter gifted with one-punch power. Unfortunately, it's only his right hand.
WILDER: The right hand, of course, has the ultimate power. But it's the way I set it up. That's just the punch you see that takes them out. The left brings the damage too. It can knock you out just as well. Trust me.
TRAINER: He's athletic and tall with good reach, but he tends to fight at his opponent's range instead of using his length.
WILDER: I'm one of the few tall guys that'll come down to your height. I'm so athletic! I do that because I use different styles. I'm never one way. People think I'm doing it because that's just my style. No, no, no. I'm doing things for a reason. They don't understand what they see.
TRAINER: His knockout streak has kept him from developing into the great boxer he could be. Also, his lack of weight and strength allows bigger opponents, like Tyson Fury [Wilder and Fury fought to a controversial draw on Dec. 1], to wear on him.
WILDER: I can count on one hand how many times I've outweighed my opponent in my pro career. People have in their mind that you have to be a certain weight. I debunked that years ago. Weight does add to the velocity [of the punch], but the technique, fast-twitch muscles, timing and positioning of your hands all work together. Boxing is a true science. That's why I can knock down a guy [Fury] 50-plus pounds heavier than I am.
TRAINER: Dominic Breazeale [21-0, 18 KOs] is a notch below the elite level, and Wilder will stop him in the last third of the fight.
WILDER: I'm going to go in there and destroy him. And I'm in a sport that allows you to do it. He's going to quit on himself. It's either going to be by choice or by force.

Wilder: No Regrets Over Saying Breazeale May Die on Saturday!
"[Breazeale's] life is on the line for this fight and I do mean his life. I am still trying to get me a body on my record," Wilder said.
"Dominic Breazeale asked for this. I didn't go seek him. He [sought] me. So if it comes it comes. This is a brutal sport. This is not a gentleman sport. We don't ask to hit each other in the face but we do anyway. And you can ask any doctor around the world, he will tell you, your head is not meant to be hit.
"On this particular time we have bad blood against each other. This is the only sport where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time. It's legal. So why not use my right to do so?"
Wilder was confronted over the statements, where he was directly asked if he now regrets making those comments about Breazeale.
"I don't regret nothing that I say. I am passionate about what I say and passionate about what I do. I've always been real. I don't worry about being politically correct," Wilder told BBC Sport.
Breazeale: I'm Super Upset Over Wilder's Talk of Killing Me
"I'm super upset," Breazeale told CBS Sports' "State of Combat" podcast on Tuesday. "You never want to hear an individual -- and I don't care what sport it is but especially in the sport of boxing -- who has the ability to put someone else in a bad state of mind or hurt them physically [talk like that]. I don't think he understands what he's saying. He's just not all there, if that makes sense.
"Both he and I have knocked out individuals with shots where I am like, 'Oh God, I hope he is going to be OK from this.' But that's just my ring gentleman ship and having a care for life. Because of it, he is going to have to pay [on Saturday]. He was going to pay anyways and I was going to have sportsmanship behind it but now when I put this beating on him and I hurt him and punish him, I'm not going to shake this man's hand. I'm not going to tell people I feel sorry for him if he's hurt. It is what it is and he has comeuppance coming his way.
"There is no way you can get behind a heavyweight champ who wants to put harm on another individual or take another man's life or put them in a coma," Breazeale said. "That just doesn't make any sense and that's not the barbaric state of mind that any champion should be in."

Looks like they boost the mic up on purpose cuz they know Wilder’s gonna be chattin his usual crap.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale on Sky Sports - 18 May 2019
Dunno why , but I sense a massive upset here too .
Everything stacked against Breazeale , but it's heavyweights and stranger things have happened .
