Again, I don’t know him personally, neither do you, but all we can do is speculate.

Golovkin did criticise others for employing catchweights and a lot of his fans from this forum passionately argued that Gennady would never have considered facing certain fighters (such as Andre Ward at a 164lbs) using catchweights, since GGG didn’t believe in them.

It seemed that the majority of the BoxRec community supported GGG’s penchant to mock and decline catchweight stipulations.

I don’t really need to know Golovkin personally at all to know for certain that the above sentences are entirely accurate. I’m sure you even realise this yourself. There's far too much proof out there to support my accusation. I'm sure you've read many of the anti-catchweight forum posts that have been submitted to 'Current Scene' BoxRec board.

This is a warmup non-title fight. There is no reason it can't be at any weight. Totally different from Canelo winning 160-lb title at 155.

Loeffler said that Golovkin would have no problem fighting at a catchweight against Alvarez, who fought Lara in a 155-pound bout.

Fight fans then jumped on the bandwagon and criticised any fighter, not named GGG, for competing in catchweights.

For the record, I don't have too much of a problem with catchweights, they're appropriate under certain conditions, but I do get frustrated about double-standards being applied or flip-flopping opinions, which is what we often witness from certain fighters and their loyal fans.

I’m merely guilty of citing the very words articulated by Tom Loeffler, in relation to GGG’s willingness to compete in title fights involving catchweight stipulations, which he later criticised other fighters for doing.

But these drugs have a way of making the body more and more brittle as time goes on.

Injuries become the norm.

Lemieux has become highly injury prone. That's cause for suspicion.

And in boxing, you never really know If the announced injury is the truth or a cover.

Mares had an elbow injury when he pulled out of the Davis fight.

He later admitted he was losing his vision due to a detached retina.
