They just worded it wrong. I think.
It seems like if you win 2 or more alphabet titles in a division it's called "unified."

And if you win all the belts, as Usyk did, it's labeled "undisputed."

I too think that unified should signify holding all the belts. The same as being undisputed. To me, you haven't unified anything unless you have them all. Otherwise it's still fragmented.

But that's how they describe it. Right or wrong.

I am not a native English speaker, but I dare to agree with you ("unifed" should be the same as "undisputed"), but, here, it is not the case ("unified" has two or three belts, "undisputed" has all four belts).

Gassiev isnt big enough for H/W and to me lacks the frame of say Hunter / Usyk to develop .

Tough fighter but I see him coming unstuck against heavy guys - whyte / parker etc

His "seek and destroy" approach probably won't work against top 10-15 HWs. He should drop Sanchez and find a better trainer.

It will be interesting to see how his power translates to HW. I do not agree with those claiming that he is not big enough for HW. He is listed as 6’4” and he is big boned.

His only loss is to Usyk. I think that the extra weight may benefit him regarding strength, endurance, and power. His less than speedy hands will be quicker relative to the competition, in most cases.

I agree that he needs to develop better defense and footwork. A change of coach may help in that regard. He also needs to increase his work rate.

Dawejko is a quick and ambitious start for Gassiev. I look forward to his first HW test.

Good points. I guess, he'll handle Dawejko pretty confidently. But he really needs to run from Sanchez.

Seems everyone is running from Abel. Don't sell Dawejko short (pun intended). He's a tough out.

If gassiev was as massive as a Tua for etc his style could work in heavyweight but he needs to change his style for his frame because if you are not the stronger one in the matchup, marching foreward flatfooted wont really do anything.

I agree that he needs to change his style, but we do not know how strong he will be at HW yet.

Gassiev is only 25, as I know, he should not be considered a small HW (6'4'', around 220 lbs, I suppose).
I expect him to be among the top ten HW in a year, but I can not imagine him beating Fury, Wilder, Joshua and Usyk.
Anyway, I don't think he can change his style a lot, and if he is lucky, he will have the chance to compete for a belt, maybe about 2023/2024.

Yeah, we've been through this before. He's under 6'3" for sure.

Makes little to no difference given almost everyone’s height is blown up by an inch or two in boxing.

I like the distinction. No point having two different terms with the same meaning, and this way it's more specific. You know that to be a unified champion is better than being a standard champion, but it doesn't claim to be undisputed, which is better than unified.

I think it's good to have specific terms for greater accuracy. In the UK there used to be a term which seems to have fallen into disuse ... RSF i.e. Smith rsf 5 Jones which indicated that the referee stopped the fight. TKO was used to cover a situation where the fight ended inside the distance but not by count-out, referee intervention, disqualification or retirement. An example might be the three knockdown rule or anything that didn't fit in those categories.

These days TKO seems to be used to cover referee intervention even in the UK as it is in the US. Not a change for the better in my opinion.

Dawejko is so modest:

https://www.BS.com/dawejko-eag ... ps--140101
”I’ve been in camp in the past with Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Wladimir Klitschko, and Andy Ruiz Jr and it's all been fantastic work and all of them were a great experience.

”What I learned about myself in these camps is that I am 100% on their level and I believe in the future I will become heavyweight champion of the world. There's no heavyweight that has a skill set like mine.

Much like his lone conqueror Oleksandr Usyk, the heavyweight debut of Murat Gassiev will have to wait a little longer.

The former cruiserweight titlist has been forced to withdraw from a planned July 27 showdown versus veteran trialhorse Joey Dawejko due to a shoulder injury.

News of the injury was first revealed by ESPN.com’s Steve Kim.

The show will go on but without Gassiev. Whether or not Dawejko (19-7-4, 11KOs) also remains unclear.

Isn't that the same injury that caused his layoff?

Nah, this one was his testicles retracting into his pelvis at the thought of the hiding Joey D was gonna dish out to him. :box:
Hopefully they should drop back in the sack now the fight is off.

Gassiev should have stayed in CW for couple more years. Now that Usyk is no longer there he could have ruled the division.

There would have been few good opponents for him too. Briedis vs Gassiev with boxing rules would be great match.

Lerena, Glowacki, Makabu and Mchunu would all be worth a watch.

I don't see the combination of hes style and size taking him all the way to the top of the HW division. Probably just a solid 5-15 range guy.
