Re: I Have Crawford over Spence
Spence-Crawford is clearly a close, pick 'em matchup if they fought today. If they fight in a year or two I'll be leaning slightly toward Spence since he is younger (by 2 years, 4 months) and has less pro experience (10 fewer fights) than Bud, with more room to improve. I realize that's a pretty narrow difference in both age & experience but the longer their match is delayed the more I think it will favor Spence (barring injury to either guy).
Because of promotional conflicts it will probably be delayed for quite a while, hopefully not as long as Floyd-Pac was.

Might be more Curry-McCrory than Leonard-Hearns.victor-romeo wrote: ↑21 Apr 2019, 17:28 I don't think Spence or Crawford, are near prime Leonard or Hearns..I have been watching Leonard , Hearns different old fights, those dudes where off the charts, and the 1st Leonard vs Hearns fights one of the greatest fights I have ever seen.
But I do know what you mean it is the Leonard vs Hearns for our time..
The later pair became legends. Curry and McCrory definitely not.
Of course to become a certified legend, you need to beat other legends.
Hearns and Leonard did. At this point neither Spence or Crawford have been anywhere near one.

I don't know who of those two wins but Crawford outboxing chinny Khan and stopping him with a nut shot didn't shift my opinion any way.

Looks bad if they aren’t willing to face a small fella, very poor.

Re: I Have Crawford over Spence
It will get made. But it needs further marinating.
Arum would be interested anyways in first seeing the PPV numbers for Saturday's fight.
If they're poor, then Crawford needs further exposure before heading into a mega matchup with Spence.
Arum (and Haymon too, I'm certain) need to be convinced that they can turn a tasty profit on that fight.
About 400,000 or so PPV sales won't cover the guarantees.

51/49 in favor of Crawford. Crawford has plenty of pop at 147 and looks plenty strong enough to match Spence physically. There are a few differences that set them apart for me. Spence seems to put combinations together better and is a little more fluid in his attacks, might even be a bit faster with his hands than Crawford. Crawford is more of a boxer/counter puncher with a killer instinct. I think Crawford is a bit better defensively, had better footwork and a more savvy fighter.
I honestly don't think there is that much difference between these guys when it comes to size. I don't even feel Spence is a bigger puncher. I actually think Crawford cracks a little harder when we're talking one punch power, but Spence wears his opponents down more with a more sustained attack which makes him seem like a bigger puncher than he really is.

Crawford is better, because he doesn't possesses only a near-perfect skillset, but also he is more elusive.

He's such a monster in the gym. Errol can stick at welter for a while.kbackup408 wrote: ↑23 Apr 2019, 09:21 no doubt, fair assessment! Coming down to 147lb for Spence will get harder the longer he stays at WW!

When will it be safe to say that Haymon is intentionally keeping Spence away from Crawford? Crawford is the only one publically calling for this fight. Spence claims everyone is ducking him. Mikey calls him out, the fight happens. Crawford calls him out, we get this and crickets from Spence. When will we acknowledge Crawford as the real boogeyman?
And before someone comes with the, "he's with a different promoter" excuse, Felix Diaz, Amir Khan and John Molina Jr were with PBC yet Crawford fought them.

Fighters call each other out all the time. It means little. Macho posturing for public consumption.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑24 Apr 2019, 10:49 ttps://www.BS.com/reality-check-crawford-spenc ... be--138296

Crawford needs Spence. He had no credible opposition on his mouthpiece network ESPN.
Meanwhile Spence has his choice of elite opponents from the PBC stable. He can probably earn more money just staying within the confines of PBC than he would sharing revenue with TR's Crawford.
Let's see how those Crawford-Khan PPV numbers are. If they fall far short of what Spence-Garcia drew, then PBC is in the driver's seat and a Spence-Crawford fight makes no economic sense at this point.

Spence has no credible opposition neither. Just because they're with PBC doesn't mean they will fight him. He's been champion for 2 years which he won from a non PBC fighter(Brook). Porter claims he wants Spence but still won't commit and might end up rematching Thurman. Danny Garcia didn't even speak Spence name after his win when I think he would do better against Spence than Thurman and Porter would.
Watch, Spence will fight Lipinets next. Mark my words. None of them want the smoke except Crawford.
