Why can't you just admit you didn't think of that aspect before you posted? Pretty silly. Ruiz got the call because aj would rather fight him on short notice than hunter. Fair play to him, but no Mexican fans in this country know Ruiz and don't know the only place they can watch canelo.

You may find this hard to believe OTO.
But not every person in this country--even Latinos--is aware of DAZN's existence. They don't all have their ear to the ground the way you magically do.
And as to how you know that "no Mexican fans" are familiar with Ruiz? I'll just assume that you polled every one of them to gather that info.

I didn't say that. None are familiar with Ruiz that don't know canelo is fighting on dazn. You're absolutely correct that very few people in this country know about dazn. It's a huge weekend for them.

What's the over/under in total rounds for this fight? Do any of you AJ acolytes here believe the champ can secure a stoppage victory?

I think Ruiz will make it more competitive than many here think.
He will still loose it thou.

I would suspect that all AJ acolytes believe their man will secure a stoppage.
I'm not one of those acolytes, but I feel that Joshua should get a knockout win.
But not early. Between 6 and 10. Ruiz' conditioning, even if he comes in at his promised 245, figures to be suspect with only 30 days in camp.
Haven't seen an overs/unders line posted yet. I'll keep scouring.
How does 6.5 rounds sound?

AJ to win in rounds 9-12 is 5/1. If folks think Ruiz can get there stamina wise, it's just provided he's mobile enough to make AJ miss up to that part of the fight.

Saw today on Bet365 the overs/unders line.
Just as I called it--6.5 rounds.
Wasting my life. I should be a bookie.

They probably have algorithms and robots to decide the odds! They cost less

Is the general consensus that Ruiz is actually (from a boxing perspective) a better opponent than Miller?
From a commercial perspective, Miller is still more valuable, mostly because of the hype factor. Ruiz is a little too mild mannered for this industry. Yeah sure he has the Mexican following, but I'm not aware of any evidence that indicates Ruiz is a massive draw.
From a boxing perspective, I'm sorry but I think Ruiz trails Miller too. Firstly in resume, Miller has in the last 18 months built up a respectable line of B/C level fighters, whereas in the same period of time Ruiz has stopped a shot Dimitrenko, and that's all she wrote about. Miller has a much better KO percentage suggesting he has a few more gears, whereas Ruiz paws his foes to death. Indicates less of a threat to Joshua.
Fact of the matter is this is not a great fight, and that is nobody's fault other than Miller's. I want it to just be over and look forward to what might be Joshua's opponent. It will take some adjusting for Joshua (as was the case when Pulev dropped out late) and might make the fight little more awkward, but I would be disappointed if this was not finished inside 7 rounds. If I'm Joshua, I am exercising the reach advantage, jab Ruiz face off, and then put the hammer down when the window opens.

This fight does happen to have all the makings of a Hollywood ending. I'm sure it won't happen, but an upset here would be glorious.

Not happening. To reference the OP - 15/1 is probably too low.
I would open betting at 25-1 minimum.

Many books now have Joshus between a 20-1 and 25-1 favorite.
Films and fight photos of the rather portly Ruiz haven't done him any favors among casual fans seeing him for the first time and assessing his chances.

Wouldn't be good in the long run as AJ is the cream of the crop and the division needs him for now, but maybe it would speed up the other big boys to face each other. IDK.

It would speed up another title shot for areola.
