Garcia left the lightweight division.
Berchelt is currently happy at 130.
So what's a Lomachenko to do?
He should fight all other belt-holders at 135 in order to become the undisputed champion.
If Berchelt and Davis got the bal.s, they will move up at LW.
If T. Lopez has the bal.s, he will stay at LW, and wait for the chance to face Loma.

Outside of Commey, what other belt holders are left at 135 now that Garcia has abdicated the WBC title?
Berchelt has actually said that a Lomachenko bout interests him. But Arum says that such a bout is a ways down the line.
And Teofimo Lopez is a lightweight and is apparently being steered by Arum into a title bout with Commey in the fall.
That would apparently leave Lomachenko and Lopez (or Commey if he pulls the upset) on a collision course sometime in 2020.
But until then, Lomachenko really doesn't have any intriguing challenges ahead.

Loma should face Commey and Campbell to get the titles. OK, Commey is a belt-holder now, Campbell is not, but to get WBC title - Loma has to fight Campbell.......................

Well he will fight Campbell.
But Arum wants his rising star, Lopez, to grab that IBF belt.
He wants Lopez to hold a world title to establish his credibility and increase his marketability.
Then Arum controls 2 champions at 135, and can eventually steer them into a superfight in 18 months.
Campbell appears to be just another routine defense for Lomachenko as he waits for a high profile bout to materialize sometime next year.

But, fight against Campbell should be the first step only. I think it is clear.

I don't think Luke Campbell is an easy out. Luke Campbell is an Olympic Gold Medalist and gave Linares a good fight which I am sure he learned and improved from. I think Loma will win but I think fight has it's danger for Loma.
I think Luke Campbell would be beat Teofimo Lopez right now. I think Teo will improve but has fought no one of note, and needs more fights to improve. Right now Teo is world class at talking and learning prospect as a fighter with hand speed and punching power.

Loma, his father and Klimas are resistant to him moving up to 140. Even for Pacquiao.
I think Garcia has lost interest in Lomachenko anyways. Even if it was somehow arranged at 140.
Mikey may have become obsessed with seeking vindication at welterweight.
His no-show performance against Spence undoubtedly stings and he's still eyeing the opportunity to show that he belongs.
A defeat to Lomachenko beforehand would make Garcia a box office afterthought.
I dunno what Mikey thinks he will accomplish at 147. He will be a fringe contender there, similar to Broner. And unlike Broner he can't talk his way into paydays. Once he loses a couple of big fights and it's clear he's not a serious contender at 147, interest will fade fast.

Mikey has to compete at LWW. This is obvious for me.

Well fighters, especially world class ones, have a tendency to believe in themselves more than a lot of fans do.
Even if their self belief is a tad unrealistic.

There is some upside to the Loma-Campbell mismatch.
The WBC is also ordering a 4-man tournament to determine the mandatory contender for Loma after he beats Campbell. The tourney involves 2 of the hottest prospects in boxing...Teo Lopez and Devin Haney:
https://fightnews.com/loma-campbell-for ... itle/45166
The WBC board of governors has accepted WBA/WBO lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko’s petition to fight for the vacant WBC lightweight title against mandatory challenger Luke Campbell. Mikey Garcia, as WBC Emeritus champion, reserves his right to fight for the lightweight title in the future.
A tournament will be ordered to determine the mandatory challenger of the division with the following fights. Silver champion Zaur Abdullaev must fight Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez must face Javier Fortuna. The winners of these matches will fight each other to determine the mandatory contender of the division.
Abdullaev is a 11-0 Russian prospect with a win over Hank Lundy and Fortuna is a former WBA world champ at 130.
Should be a very interesting, highly competitive tourney!!

Arum has already said that Lopez' involvement in this tourney is dead in the water.
He'll instead have Lopez fight Commey for the IBF title sometime in the fall.
So the WBC will need to find a willing 4th party if this thing is going to fly.

Luke has a huge amount of amateur experience and pedigree. I do not expect him to win. I do expect him to pose Loma some questions that will require answers we've not seen from Loma to date as a professional. Good fight.

The WBC are really out to stop Hearn doing well aren’t they? Wonder how much influence Haymon is having on their behaviour?

..Loma's resume is one of the best I've ever seen..He definitely doesn't need to man up to prove anything..He's got a goal he's been shooting for with Campbell being just a stepping stone...

José Ramírez is a better rival than this bum.
Of fact, without Mikey, 135 division is one of the worst in boxing.
There are a lot of young talent, but they are that... Young talent yet.

He only has two real rivals of élite level
Russell JR
Salido.
Walters was a hype job.
Rigo was a midget, smaller dude, that win was garbage.
Sosa, another B class fighter.
Martínez, another bum.
Linares? Dude was K.Od by 37390 mexicans of third level. Included Yeyo Thompson that was a bum. Linares always was a very frágile champ.
And Salido beat him...
He is great destroying this kind of rivals but he needs big rivals, not this kind of bum

Then you'll just have to invent some big 135 lb rivals because there's nobody out there.
Unfortunately Duran isn't lurking and waiting to pounce.

Ramírez is better than this bum from U.K.
If not García, then the King of 140 pounds (maybe Prograis ).
That would be a great Challenge because Davis is ducking him
