We can all have a little punch and a loss.
Groves just ran out of juice on nervous energy in the first, totally realised it, and calmed himself in the rematch to the point of losing momentary focus. I think Groves would've won had he caught Froch a couple of fights later, but a bit of bad luck went a long way and he took two fair losses.

He did lose and it wasnt down to his technical skills or physical disadvantages. I don't think he was mentally capable of winning. For whatever reason he couldn't bring himself to use the game plan he needed to use. Physical talent and ability was there for him to win both fights but he didn't fully respect frochs toughness, chin and boxing ability. I think groves was guilty of overrating himself too but what top pro boxer isn't. For me, he lost those fights because he wasn't up to par mentally. It was a combination of misjudging it and I hate to say it but a lack of intellect in assessing the dynamics of the fight and what froch brought to the table. With booth as his trainer, he wins both fights.

I guess we will never know as they both retired now and groves has put on some beef so I doubt froch would fancy it again anyway unless the money was mad !

A few possible Booth split reasons......feel free to add your own ........
Booth either wants a bigger cut as they increase their revenue. The boxers disagrees, and it ends....
Booth tells the boxer some home truths, ie; you ain't putting 100% in no more, and he ends it himself. They do tend to decline from Booth.

Didn't see it that way. I remember froch being the boss and appearing much stronger/in command the second time around. He seemed to be moving George into all the right positions. I may watch it again and reevaluate actually.
From memory i recal a close cagey fight with Froch just edging it, and maybe starting to edge further ahead as the rounds went on? I will need to rewatch it again for a fresh take.

That is absolutely my recollection of the fight. I actually thought Groves was fighting within himself and boxing a bit too conservative, likely by design in order to avoid emptying his tank.

The rematch was close, could've had either up a point. Judges were split. Only da fanbois think that anyone was the boss, at least until, you know.

I don't really get why Froch would do this. He got a questionable stoppage once, and an emphatic knockout in the rematch. I don't see it getting any better than the huge KO win he had in front of a giant crowd so why go back over this old ground?
Even if he won it wouldn't mean as much, and it wouldn't be as big an event. Essentially he has everything to lose and nothing to gain here. Groves of course wants sweet revenge so he should be plenty motivated.
