Boxers are known as "PRIZE fighters" not "PRIDE fighters".
Praise, respect and trophies doesn't pay the bills, only money does that. Nearly all boxers that compete in the pro ranks do so to earn money.
The vast majority of us only do our jobs in order to pay the bills and fund our lifestyle, so it would be hypocritical for the same individuals to criticise fighters for doing the same?
Put it this way, how many self-proclaimed armchair boxing “experts”, those that only respect fighters that are willing to “die for the cause” in order to “achieve great things”, contributed to the ongoing living costs of the brain damaged Joe Frazier shortly before he died penniless living above a gym?

The bottom line is, he's not that good, so he has no choice but to fight for money.
The elite fight for titles. legacy and money, he's just not in that bracket.

Broner signed that. $50 million contract last year.
I believe that he's only 3 fights into it, so there's still quite a bit of money left on the table.
Why would he retire? Broner enjoys fighting and there's plenty cash yet to be made. Before the year's out, he'll probably be in yet another high profile bout.
