I'd favour Joshua but obviously Wilder has real power in that right hand.

I actually believe Joshua's best plan would be to get up close and personal, provided he can jab and fient his way past Wilder's long punches, of course.

I can't see Wilder hanging with Joshua on the inside for very long at all, I doubt he will have the power to push Joshua off him at that range.

If Joshua tries to box and move he will be in the firing line all night, no matter how many rounds he may win before getting caught.

I’ve gone for Wilder as I think he probably learned something from sharing 12 rounds with Fury. I think he’s going to fight that little bit more intelligently now.

Brezeale has always been a walking punch bag but I didn’t expect him to go in one like like that.
Great post! No one has brought up what Wilder may have learned in the ring against Fury. Really great point. :TU:

It’s whoever lands first - Joshua will outbox Wilder and likely rock him repeatedly, but if Wilder can take AJ’s power he’s always going to have a shot at landing that haymaker. Fury outboxes both of them.

If Joshua lazily leans in, swinging a slow, low left hook with his chin in the air like Breazeale did, he deserves to get knocked out.

Its probably true to say that it's whoever lands first but Wilder has shown a propensity towards defensive lapses, much more so than Joshua. Molina, Ortiz, Breazeale, that journeyman who had him on his arse. It's not exactly the top level guys who have had him in bother.

Don't agree that Wlad punched harder than Wilder. Obviously can't say either way 100% categorically but can state with certainty if Wilder had Joshua in the sort of trouble Wlad did, he'd have finished him rather than stood off gawping and sucking up air.

I would say Wlad hit harder than Wilder, although obviously fought a lot more negatively and rarely committed in the same way so didn’t get as many highlight reel ko’s.

Regardless of last nights result the fact that he KTFO DB, regardless of Joshua’s result. People have seen them both at their best. I doubt anyone changes their opinion now.

Maybe a select few.

josh also ktfo molina much faster then dw did, on common opponents it about even

dws like 4 or 5 years older then aj, by the time this happens if it does, he may have lost a step, especially as hes so athleticsm heavy

Suppose the ref last night had been the ref in the Fury fight, Fury would have lost. The slow count and asking Fury if he was OK wouldn't have happened with this ref. That would have been Furys second loss because he clearly lost to Big John McD the first time. Why is Fury getting these favours from refs and judges? Fury is very beatable, and they would have to disqualify Wilder if they had a 2nd fight because Wilder would Knock him out cold. AJ definitely has more skills than Wilder so Wilder would have to be patient and wait for his opportunity to pounce. I am certain he would spark AJ in the 2nd half of the fight. Wilder is the man and he will take all the titles and retire undefeated.

Joshua is too static and has very little upper body/head movement. He's a sitting duck for someone like Wilder.

The reason why Fury was able to give Wilder trouble (and yet still nearly had his head taken off his shoulders) was because for a big guy he's very light on his feet, is always feinting and moving and thus is never a static target.

Also and this is the big one for me. Fury is very good at rolling under punches for a guy of his size. He did that a lot in the wilder fight. Made him miss my inches. Joshua doesn't possess that in his arsenal.

Wilder reaches and to make it miss it’s an old fashion move back a step, move to the side, land a one two and tie up. Breezale looked every bit the American footballer he is. May has well been a punch back he has zero head movement
The problem is that Joshua that doesn't possess the attributes that Fury does, bar being a bigger, more dangerous puncher.

do you think joshua could ko wilder first though? a lot of ppl act like aj needs to box some perfect fight and wilder doesnt, but tbf josh can bang himself, both only had 1 victim go the distance

Oh of course! If Joshua gets there first, can definitely see him taking Wilder out. I just think that Joshuas stiff, robotic style is tailor made for Wilder.

True but he can at least do the basics, his foot movement isn’t bad and is improving as is his sense of defence. Breezale looked awful, high guard, no foot or head movement, made it easy

Same here. Last night didn't change my mind. Brazeale was a dead duck. I did see Wilder try a couple of hooks to the body and landed one- so that was an improvement.
We may not see anything from Joshua Vs Ruiez either that will change opinions regarding AJ Wilder.

Joshua is very good at timing counter shots and following up with sharp combinations to body and head when he has his opponents staggered, Fury doesn't possess that in his arsenal.

I don’t agree with this. Wilder’s one punch power is incredible but his finishing isn’t. The windmill shots lack power and he tires himself out. When he’s downed Breezale, Fury, Ortiz etc it’s always one punch but when he had fury in trouble, those windmill shots were not effective. AJ is the opposite, his one punch power isn’t as effect as Wilder but his finishing is brilliant, he throws good, varied combos all with power

I would expect Joshua to win using superior boxing but Wilder is in it whilst he is still on his feet, he has shown that he can still end a fight late even if he has had a rough time of it.
I thought Wilder was very gracious when asked how his win over Breazeale compared to Joshuas win over him and what that meant should they box one another as he didn't start screaming and shouting about how it proves he would smash Joshua, just stated that he and Breazeale gelled in such a way that it was good for him.
I can't say that I would be shocked by any outcome other than Wilder on points.

Mate, someone's been telling you porkies...

Breazeale's ten count lasted near 12 seconds, he was given every chance.
Fury was steady by 10 seconds, so not sure why you think he got a slow count. And given how particular you are being, can I safely assume you wouldn't be in favour of Wilder being gifted a KO via a fast count?

Anyway, this is the third time I have read this claim in the last 24 hours on here, I'm going to assume you heard it from a youtuber pushing a false narrative for subs

Absolutely NOT. I watch a fight and decide what I think. When I made these comments before, a couple of guys agreed with me regarding the count, I laugh when Fury says he won the fight but didn't get the decision. Wilder won it without a doubt and shouldn't have a draw on his record.
