Completely agree with all of this. I'm so fed up with the repetitive criticism I've given up responding to it. Some pudendum on CS called him 'the British Seth Mitchell' the other day. How do you even respond to that? 6'2" chinless American footballer hype job with no amateur career and poor stamina is exactly like 6'6" iron chinned highly decorated amateur with fantastic engine. He obviously has something and I think he already looks better under Boothe. I can see him doing Kabayel and Charr and getting the WBA regular, and then coming unstuck against one of the top 5.

No shame in any of that.

ya hes better then he looks, and i know its tiresome with all the 'so f@cking slow' stuff, but seriously, every time i watch him i cant get over how slow he is, it never gets old, the man is like a sloth in slow mo but theres obviously something to him, he seemed to have few problems landing on opponents even vs high level point scoreres in the ams, hes actually quite accurate and obviously strong. had a great engine in the ams too

No matter who he fights and steamrolls, when I watch him I'll always feel compelled to comment on his speed (or lack of it).

Say what you like about Joyce’s speed (or lack thereof) but there are going to be very few heavyweights who will stand up to the relentless, heavy-handed pressure that he brings. He may not have one punch knockout power but the sheer accumulation of punches is going to account for most of the division; and I really appreciate seeing a heavyweight who seems fit to fight twelve rounds at pace...

Sure thing. He's been effective so far. Just can't see him going much further up the food chain.

I can see him prevailing against all but Wilder, Fury, AJ and Usyk so he will probably end up with the WBA Regular belt...

Possibly, I like the look of Hunter I think that would be a really good fight. My list isn’t exhaustive but I think Joyce can end up a solid top ten fighter...

Hopefully Boothe will be able to polish some of the rough edges. Especially on defense. He's a beast, but wide open beasts get ko'd eventually.

Agree 100%

If Joyce can ever get into the top 10 before he is 35, which is less than a year and a half from this date, he may get a significant fight for significant money. That is the most realistic of expectations in my opinion. He is out of skill, out of time, and out of luck.

He’s never going to stand a chance against the likes of Fury, or perhaps even boxers like Pulev. but I could see him doing well against second tier heavyweights like Whyte and Breazeale

Thought the first round was quite interesting. He obviously wanted to try some things out defensively. Then reverted to type in the 2nd and 3rd. Never looked in any trouble.

Bloody 'eck certainly didn't expect that butterfly kick celebration either

It’s Capoeira he does for the celebration, traditional Brazilian martial art.

I’ve always like Joe, he’s never going to be the most skilled, but I just like the stamina, the way he just gets in there and takes it to the opponent.

There are opponents for Joyce higher up that I think would be great to watch; Ortiz, Whyte, Brazeale,
And some not really right for him, like Parker, Kownacki, and possibly Ruiez.
As previously posted, the likes of the top 3 and Usyk, I think, are a wee bit out of his level.

Really? That's surreal I've missed that one. Admittedly I haven't followed him closely, only through YouTube, but I watched back his wins against Stiverne, Thomas, Jozic, Kiladze and Hanks.

I'd like to see him fight Dave Allen.

Criticism towards to JJ is normal after everytime he fights.

JJ has the justified criticism yes - but at the same time what's out there.

Fury - Light punching, low punch output but can move FOR A BIG GUY
Wilder - Dynamite punching but novicy is so many ways.
Joshua - Got a lot going for him but Robotic also with little headmovement.

Nothing about Buatsi or Gorman, who look as good as any prospect in the world from what I've seen, is making me go "ahh here's the next hall of famer in the heavyweight division".

JJ isn't any great shakes in previous heavyweight eras - but in this era, he's probably as good as anyone.

We need Usyk to do the business.

Maybe we can all agree that The Juggernaut is the best painfully slow fighter in the world ?

Agree with a lot of the above !

To the casual fan he is a bit slow and ponderous , but this is heavyweight boxing ! You don’t need to be Sugar Ray Robinson, the rules are different.

Excelling at one thing can be enough

Valuev was terrible but made his massive size work for him

Wilder is a terrible technician, poor defensively but hits like a mule and carries his power late

Tua , Vitali, etc etc all pretty poor “boxers” but had great results despite this .

JJ is very big and very strong and amazingly fit ! Unless you can expose his defensive flaws with a big right hand , chances are he will catch you often enough to force a late stoppage !

Everyone marvels at Joshua’s size but Joyce is or equal height and weight and is more naturally that size!

Ustinov was even slower than Joyce but still caught him a few times. Even my cat kep ducking as the wild slow hooks were slung from both sides.

Adam Booth will make Joyce a bit more elusive, but im not sure how he will increase his speed or ingrained style. I hope Adam can as Joyce is a very likeable fella and Id like to see him reach the top.

Joe reminds me of a game i used to have as a kid in the 70's , it was called raving bonkers....Two robots slug it out in straight lines throwing solid shots straight down the line until eventually one robot loses his head and it pops up on a spring!

Joe Joyce is an elite level boxers dream because he's a walking punch bag for boxer/movers and side to side fighters.

In my opinion Hughie Fury will outsmart Joe Joyce in such a way that it would make a classic fight because Joe will keep coming and Hughie will keep throwing punches .

Plenty of great fights for Joe at the moment , Chisora , Martin, Kownacki , Hughie , Hammer , Whyte ...take your pick, some he wins easy, some he loses!
