I decided I’d do a few shows selling tickets and the coach booked for months etc and got a call a day b4 saying can’t find me an opponent so cost me money then that happened again twice more straight after so I just wanted to box and got offered biba - it was on boxrec then etc - I did then think I wana earn a few quid going on the road but the board said no as I’d refused to go to a meeting in Cardiff about boxing on a biba show- I said it would be cheaper me paying a solicitor to go for an hour then take days off work and drive 7/8 hours just for a meeting - I live in the lakes!! They just said u were asked to a meeting and didn’t come so no u can’t get ur license back- but to be honest lee Mcallister manages me and I’m getting fights with out selling tickets - I’m going abroad etc so a good 12 month with Lee and il sale off into the sun set - an underachiever but content mate

Thanks for the insight Lee. You always come across as a solid boxer who puts on a decent show for the paying punters. Good luck for 29 June mate :box:

I was working with Lee but not official at the time - I was meant to be fighting Matt Ellis but he didn’t show for what ever reason so Lee stepped in - yer I got a ban and big fine but thankfully the board reduced the fine - honestly Ud think I was on footballer money the original fine then thankfully it got dropped to hundreds instead of thousands - thanks for the good luck appreciate it

Danny vs Fres Oquendo would be an intriguing freak show fight.

I can imagine it now REPEAT OR REVENGE

This event was cancelled at the last minute, I assume Williams must have pulled out to take the (presumably) more lucrative job in Kazakhstan?

Just watched the fight and what a sorry state of affairs Danny has become. Hes basically a human punch bag.

Anyone recognize any of Danny's corner? They should be ashamed of themselves. What a pityful sight

I know what you mean about the cornermen, but he seems to have a different 'team' with him every time he fights ..

Does anyone else remember Lee's back and forward with Howard Daley on here?
Yes, just double checked and it was 8 years ago!

A bit at an argument on here and an actual fight developed - if I remember correctly both lads seemed sound and made up after the fight which was a draw.

Good luck to him, he just wants to box - I bet he could write a book on all the shite that goes on behind the scenes that boxers who are not connected to the top promoters have to put up with

There is no way he brings a team with him, he just grabs whoever is there on the night and gives them a drink.

Though one does wonder why a British bloke just happened to be 'there on the night' on a bill in Kazakhstan?

I think they just couldn’t afford it all in the end and the arseholes let everyone down at the last minute- I’m guessing they couldn’t afford Danny or any of the fights - they have come up with rubbish like it’s political and the bbbofc made a complaint but it was just to big for them to pull off!! Cost me Monet as well - was very pissed off getting told the day b4 I flew!!

No co-incidence mate - the mystery British guy has worked in Danny's corner many times over the years and was involved in training Danny in the early days :TU:

It's a real bummer when sh*t like this happens mate - wasted your time & money - and no doubt others were the same!

Easy to come up with excuses to justify why the show got cancelled - but any boxing show takes a lot of work to put on & promote - as this relatively inexperienced / novice promoter, who was putting on Cyprus' first ever Pro-boxing show, found out

Things happen and I understand that but you hit the nail on the head mate - people with no experience on how to arrange these things or been experience on how to cancel one and give more notice that a few hours

No offense meant, but I'm sure that's been a number of fellow Brits in his corner.

When he fought Pavel Doroshilov I'm sure Jim Evans was his cornerman?

What a b*stard sorry to hear that mate, don't suppose you'll be compensated for expenses incurred?

Do you have anything else lined up?
