Just realised I wrote this 2 years ago, was about to write the same thing again! Honestly, it never made sense at the time and makes even less sense in hindsight. I know there was concerns about the contract or something, but it can’t have possibly been any worse than the way Ronnie’s career has played out since. Just such a waste, the Barrett win should have been a real springboard.
He would have beaten Barrett again. Then he would have got some opportunity.

Fair enough, I don’t remember the ins and outs of it, just remembered there was talk of shenanigans but i just assumed it was a contractual thing.

yeah it could have been a springboard if a real promoter believed in him. They didn't even after the win so we like to think he would in a better place but we see where Zelfa at even with the loss because he was looked after by a big promoter.

i mean, would having taken the barret rematch at whatever disadvantage they were trying to put him out have been worse than a 3.5 year layoff and then comeback as an away opponent vs a good khaz prospect?

That’s the 2nd dig?? You clearly do not have a clue. Ronnie does not listen to me. To be fair Ronnie does his own thing. I advised him not to fight in Kazakhstan and to take a couple of tune up fights v journeymen. He doesn’t want to be in meaningless fights. He only wants real fights. I don’t agree but understand why. He’s a real fighter and wants real fights. All his friends and family just support him

He’s no chance of being the A side now he just needs to fight more often or he will get old and make zero cash out the game. I’m sure even you agree with that.

fighting sean mccomb this friday, will be giving up some size there as mccomb is 4 inches taller and has usually fought at 140 , while ronnie is usually at 130 for his serious fights

It's still a winnable fight for Ronnie. McComb is a quitter going off his Gwynne fight, seems to cut easily. If Ronnie can keep it on him, land a few left hands and just push a good pace here I think we could see McComb jack again.

79 -74 win for McComb over Clark.
Good fight but McComb too good for Clark in most rounds. Tough guy Clark, took some big shots. Easy to see why he's only been KOd once.
McComb looked very good.

didnt think he looked 'very good' at all, he pitter pattered and couldnt put a dent or even a slight hesistation in a guy 2 divisions smaller. you could see why gwyn walked him down and stopped him, just no authority in his work

fight in khaz vs a good khaz prospect, fight vs a guy 2 divisions bigger.......seems like he/his team is less picky these days about his fights
