Wilder has said this to stem the criticism he’s been getting for his perceived duckage of AJ for signing to fight Ortiz again

Where does Fury talk about the rematch being signed?

No doubt trying to steal some of the thunder. That's what happens.

Yes. Strange that not a word about this has been uttered by the usually loquacious Fury.

And nothing from Arum either, for that matter.

It's not strange when it's not, in reality, confirmed.

Here we go again with that word "confirmed."

So Wilder and Finkel claim it's signed, but it's not confirmed.

Eh??

So Fury has two fights before he fights Wilder again?

I am sure both his fights this year will be against no hoper opposition.

He should fight Tom Schwarz twice!

Then Fury has Wilder and AJ is left looking for an opponent. Is it ripe for a Whyte rematch?
As long as the IBF doesn't order Joshua to fight Pulev then I would think so. Joshua has very limited options now.

Fury has persistently claimed he was facing Wilder during March/April 2020.

He’s been saying this on almost a weekly basis for months now.

I believe in it happening in early 2020. That was just Arum, who made it impossible immediately, cause he wanted to marinate it, and as far as I remember, he stated early 2020 from the beginning of his deal with Fury. Now Wilder will fight Ortiz, Fury will fight Scwarz and most likely some other tomato can, and then they'll face each other in a rematch.

..any OFFICIAL confirmation? incidentally, what happened to very recent Fury's promise to fight 3 times in 2019?

If this is true Wilder deserves plenty of plaudits. Ortiz is a very tough fight as is Fury. He is willing to rematch two very close and lose-able fights.

I know DW fought nobodies for a long time but he's really stepping up now.

Pleased the rematch is on if true. 9-12 months later than it should have happened though.

I'd expect this sets up a unification at Wembley next summer provided Hearn isn't too greedy
