It's an upset but it's not one of the most important results in history.
Yes it is. It may not be the most important but it is one of them. Mexico is going crazy right now. The whole world is waking up saying WTF?!! The American boxing scene just got adrenalized.
And fat dudes everywhere are

He took multiple hard shots to the temple in the 3rd. He never recovered fully.

Shots which would have bounced off many other heavyweights.

Over and over in fantasy threads the shorter heavyweight is immediately discounted. And if he doesn't have the big bulging muscles, forget about it. Andy Ruiz has provided a useful reminder that height isn't such an advantage when it's horizontal!

You have no evidence of that.

Surely his evidence is on Youtube. It's called 'Andy Ruiz fight playlist'.

Ruiz has improved his power.

What happens now if Ruiz refuses a rematch?
Does he get stripped/sued?

Ruiz has improved his power.
Against a chinny opponent, power always looks more impressive. He's certainly never been considered a power puncher though.

But to be fair, I said in another thread he seems to fight to the level of his opponent. The Ruiz who fought Parker and Joshua is much better than the routine slobbish Ruiz. But his big punches DID bounce off Parker, there's no getting around that.

I doubt Ruiz will be the one avoiding the rematch. What exactly does he have to fear?

After that dominant performance, absolutely nothing.
It was just a 'whatif' question.

Big biceps & traps & chest are good to you in the gym, don't mean nothing in a straight up fight
Fair play to Andy Ruiz jr

Boxed a cracker,
AJ was clueless in there,I thought Ruiz would bag himself a few early sessions, look sharp & eventually get sparked, but AJ had F**k all for him, don't think he should be nowhere near Tyson or Wilder

Ruiz walked AJ onto big shots to the temple. AJ recovered from a massive shot from Wlad.
Ruiz has good power, improved by his keeping his weight up, and accentuated by the shots not seen coming.
I would argue that we cannot conclude that AJ has a poor chin from this fight. We can conclude that Ruiz has serious beard and massive heart.
We can also conclude that Ruiz sets masterful traps.

Ruiz will win a rematch in better fashion,no one punch loss here,it was a beating over a few rounds,Joshua will get heavier and slower,Ruiz will get more confident.Joshua's reaction to the loss though is puzzling, like it hasn't happened

He was considerably lighter in that fight and Parker has proven to have a great chin.
There is ample proof over the last six weeks. Ruiz body work alone in those two fights shows his power. He destroyed Dime to the body and he was hurting AJ with his stiff jabs to the midsection as well as his vicious hooks.
Ruiz deserved a minimum of a draw v Parker.

Size is an important thing, when you can use it. Today Joshua didn't use it after scoring a brief success and he paid for that.

Was that hard KD in the 3rd nothing? Ruiz has never been down. Many an HW would have been finished by that.

Not in the grand scheme of things no
It's a 12round fight, one big moment doesn't mean you've got lots of artillery for somebody

You said that AJ had nothing last night. The fact is that he was in control in the 3rd and made a big mistake. He never recovered from that mistake, and Ruiz did not make the same mistake.
That was the difference. Even going into the 7th the result was well in doubt.

AJ didn't have a fighting heart either
Going got tough & he was looking for a way out
If a football team scores 2goals early doors then the other team goes on to score 5,it renders them early 2 pretty useless doesn't it
It's down to the man to learn from mistakes, and overcome, adapt,AJ could not & he wasn't a very live competitor imo

I def agree that body building muscles don't help you in a fight but let's not start pretending that fat is a positive thing.
