I think there could be some substance to this- even when he was walking out to the ring he was looking super nervous.
It would his gas tank being completely empty pretty much instantly aswell.
As someone who has suffered with anxiety and used to suffer with panic attacks frequently, I can't imagine trying to actually have a fight just afterwards.
Your heart rate is going through the roof and you feel absolutely exhausted. When I've had them I feel like I can barely move let alone do any kind of exercise at the time.
I'd probably have more respect for AJ if the rumour was true and he tried to fight like that.
It would explain why in the corner after one of the rounds why he said to Mccracken "why am I feeling like this" especially if he's never had one before.
Having one for the first time is probably the worst aswell because you don't understand it and it feels like you're about to die.

I’ve always kind of wanted to have a panic attack, just to see how it feels.

Exactly, Lewis had pretty much won every minute of the first Rahman fight before getting ko’d out of nowhere. Joshua was beaten up for most of his fight.
Slight exageration there - Ruiz did next to nout for opening two rounds, possibly lost the 4th or 5th also (one of those - can't remember which) and was also tagged quite hard in the 5th.
I think calls of a 1/2 round Ruiz lead (depending how you scored the third) was fair - it was hardly a boxing lesson.

You really don't mate lol. People who haven't had them think people that have or do are exaggerating what it's like.
Imagine your heart rate going through the roof, sometimes it would make me start to shake really badly because of all the adrenaline running through my system. You start to feel really nauseous at times with them aswell. Pins and needles in your hands, Hyperventilating to the stage where it feels like you can't catch your breath. They're truly horrible.

AJ denied anything happened in the dressing room, but he’s just say that anyway.
Maybe his dad is right. But the show went on. I think the night got all too much for him.
Big stage. US debut. MSG! The real home of US Boxing.
He bottled it.
Why do panic attacks occur?

Maybe everyone is reading too much into the loss. Maybe its just the best man won on the night but making false stories and excuses is pretty bad.
Also you never know in sparring it could be possible a sparring partner has given him a bloody good outing and knocked him down and thats stayed with him right into the fight and scared him somewhat.
True - I personally agree. I see a fight that AJ was winning, not looking comfortable but winning, until he got careless and never recovered..... to be honest I didn't see a fighter who had been KD/KO'd in Sparring but I thought it was very odd that it was one of the first things Allen (a matchroom fighter) suggested. Either he makes Jim Watt and Barry Jones combined look terrible, psychic, or knew something. It was bizarre just to say that.
I think it is better for AJ to deny anything - Sparring KD, Panic attack the lot..... 1) It sounds like excuses, and 2) (most importantly) can you imagine the mind games Fury would play if he thought AJ was fragile mentally.

Dave Allen did seem like he was not just the best boxing pundit / expert in his post fight interview with IFL, actually a boxing prophet..... clearly something happened in sparring - but I still don't feel AJ suffered a full blown panic attack just prior to the fight.
Allen's interview with Boxing Social was 1st class, really inciteful stuff, no bias , favoritism or snide comments, just a quality listen, i advise anyone who hasn't watched in to check it out

Indeed. We would have another David Price

True - it was class - really enjoyed - but the Sparring KD/KO just seemed a bit "out there" and a bit too random to just be inciteful..... think he clearly knows AJ got KD/KO'd.

I've had panic attacks since I was 18/19 years old . I can't even get to the shop let alone fight in front of thousands of people. Can we just stop with the crap excuses, he lost it happens sometimes.

I think there's a number of different types of panic attacks, so you can't really put your experience directly onto Joshua, if of course this is any way remotely true.
I have had attacks in the past, mainly through exhaustion and excess, and to be honest they are quite bad but my biggest take away from them is the extreme euphoria I felt when they ended. So completely opposite to the others who have shared their experiences.
I will say, though, that the first one was terrifying. I thought I was having a stroke.

Who knows what really went on. AJ was not on form though (for whatever reason). He can box better than that.

Bollocks to the panic attacks or anything else , he lost because his stamina , speed , footwork , timing and IQ were just not there on the night , and Ruiz is good enough , tough enough and hits hard enough to take advantage

going back to getting dropped in sparring the name touted is Joey Dawejko and he has a few knock outs on his record. So could be possible I suppose.

I heard from a mate who knows this guy who once walked past Wembley Stadium where AJ has fought before (mad innit); anyways he asked his uncle, who's boss told him that his postman said a pigeon flew in to the dressing room and AJ is mad scared of pigeons, hence the panic attack

Its possible, most people don't understand the pressure fighters are under. At top level, dealing with pressure is prob more important than talent.

When Joshua hurts an opponent he starts laughing at them and poking his tongue out. He's a bully. The bully got found out.
Definitely an on top fighter, always thought he doesn’t like it being put back on him. A panic attack would explain why he had zero energy, they absolutely sap everything out of you.

Isnt it obvious? The guy was not on form from the off but it was the shot to the temple that did him in.
His balance was shot after that and most likely the reason he asked Bobby McCracken why he was feeling weird.
It happens. Look at Price after that clip FROM Thompson. This was a far bigger hit and AJ tried to fight on.
I'd have AJ favourite in the rematch if he goes on the front foot. Compare how he fought against Whyte or KINGpin Johnson. Just went hell for leather.
Forget boxing behind the jab in the rematch, just steam in and get of him

You get a temple shot on the button and your equilibrium just goes.
That particular shot is what did all the damage.
